Surprisingly average. The food was mediocre, the service was sub par, and there is nothing original on the menu. However, the interior is quite modern and sleek. I would give it a 2nd chance, but only if I was in the area.

I have been here a couple of times, not by choice but because my friends wanted to try it. I refuse to go back now, the food is bland and not at all exciting or different. The place is huge and always empty. The only thing redeemable is their smoothies, which take forever to come out. Pass.

Absolutely delicious. I came here starving and by myself one day. I ordered the grilled chicken with grilled veggies and corn and black bean salad. I have to say it was the perfect meal. I chose BBQ as my sauce and I was worried it was going to be something out of a bottle but the cashier informed me it was made fresh at the cafe. I'm glad I chose it because it was unique and really complemented the chicken which was nice and juicy. The grilled veggies were flavorful and cooked to perfection. Not your typical frozen bag variety. Everything was as the name suggests: fresh. The inside was clean and really nicely laid out. If I wasn't on my lunch break I probably would have stayed a while. They advertise free wi-fi. I am looking forward to coming back and trying out the rest of the menu. The two things I would point out to people is that it is a little pricey. But I think it's worth it to treat yourself every now and then. The quality makes it worth it. But it's not somewhere that I can go everyday for lunch. Second, it took a little while to get my food. Although, I think that's probably because it was being grilled fresh. The people after me that ordered salads got their's a lot quicker. Also, it might have just felt like a long time because I was by myself and, like I said, starving. The meal completely made up for the little longer than usual wait time. A side note, they will scoop out the middle part of the bread if you want to make you sandwich lower in carbs. That's genius and a very nice touch.

I walked past this place several times before stopping in, but since then, this has become my regular spot to get coffee and study, grab a sandwich, or take the family for a relaxed dinner. The owner, who is _always_ there, is unbelievably friendly. If you're lucky, he'll bring you a free cookie! It's an interesting set-up: a european style cafeteria. The food is very good, nothing fancy, just consistently well prepared, fresh food. The environment is excellent - very relaxed. I hate going to the Coffee Bean across sunset because it is so obnoxious; this place is the polar opposite, and since it has wifi, I have no reason to go anywhere else. Highly recommend this place as an everyday spot.

Fresh Bites is one of my new favorite spots. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting. The owner Luca is willing to come out and meet the customers and which is always a great feeling. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Smoothies are a must have, their breakfast many is amazing. I have loved everything I have ordered from there and will continue recommending the place to friends and family.

this is a great neighborhood place. Food is good; staff is very helpful; prices are fair. I like the idea of ordering from the counter and having the food brought to the table. The menu is varied and interesting. I plan on going back tomorrow with another friend.

Fresh Bites' grand opening on Sunset in Holly/West Holly has been long awaited. First off, the interior is stunning. Beautiful architectural and design work. The food is very fresh, healthy and reasonably priced for the quality you are getting. House-made pastries are extraordinary. They have a few kinks to work out around the menu and operations, but the staff is friendly, personable and attentive. Indoor and outdoor seating. Validated parking in structure. This place was well worth the wait.

Been watching this place get built for so long--its on my commute to and from work. Finally got a chance to drop in for lunch and am very happy to find whats going to be a regular place to eat. Fairly wide menu of sandwiches, salads, pastas, pizzas, dinner entrees and breakfast too all with an Italian bistro influence. I had tuna salad and fontina sandwich--actually a sub. The low carb -- scoop out the bread-- option was cool as the crisp baguette crust worked great w/ the fresh tuna salad, avo and sprouts. You order at the counter like Tender Greens and food came very quickly. The decor is beautiful and is much higher end than the unexpectedly reasonable prices. The espresso was amazing--apparently a special blend for the owner. I'll definitely be returning for breakfast and dinner. A nice addition to the area.

The concept still seems strange as to ordering at the counter when the menu is rather large and the setting seems fit for table service. The food is good enough to deal with it but make it clear what order you want food delivered to your table - unless you want it all at once - and you will probably be safe!. When we ordered we said we planned to split the cranberry and goat cheese salad (very good) and ordered two pastas (also both very good). To our surprise, all was brought to the table at once (with an extra bowl to split the salad). In retrospect, we should have asked them to take back the pastas until we finished the salad as the pasta got cold too quickly - although perfectly cooked and hot when all first arrived. When I mentioned to the owner that I found it strange that they brought everything together he made it seem like it was our fault for not making it clear when we placed the order to bring the salad first. What other restaurant brings salad and pasta courses to the table at the same time? Hopefully the owner will take this review with a dose of humility and learn from a constructive customer comment while working out the kinks. I wish the owner luck and success and really hope to see Fresh Bites as a bustling and thriving addition to the neighborhood.

With the griddle down the way and Fresh bites next door, why do people wait in line there?? I love Luca's and Luca, himself is so friendly. Their coffee is excellent, perfect Italian roast. A nice staff. And you really can have almost anything you are craving...I love their scones as well.

This place is fabulous! We ducked in randomly and found the food to be fresh and tasty. I know others complained about the price but I found that paying $26 for dinner for two (including one fresh juice) was probably 30%-50% less than dinner at other restaurants would have been. I spent $100 for dinner for two people at Sasabune and left hungry so I feel $26 is a very fair price for a good dinner.

the only thing more perplexing than this restaurant's 4-star rating is why its name has changed 3 times. i can only assume it's haunted.

I work next door and eat here at least 3 times a week. The sandwiches are great. Turkey & Brie and Hearts & Cucumber are my favorites. I also love the tomato & parmesan salad. Lately I've been trying Luca's specials and they are fantastic. The risotto was wonderful and tonight I had the pork ossobuco. It was out of this world. I agree with the other reviews regarding their juices and smoothies, they're delicious. But the best is their coffee. Luca has a Pasquini espresso maker (I had never heard of Pasquini before) and they customize their coffee blends. It is some of the best coffee I've ever had. I am happy to support a small business rather than patronize the coffee bean & tea leaf across the street. And the bonus is that it's better coffee anyway. I don't eat the pastries too often but they are worth it when I do. The banana bread is so good. Luca and his whole staff are top notch and very nice. It's always a pleasure eating here. My only note is: I keep telling Luca to have canvas bags made and sell them so I don't have to keep bringing back my paper bag. And he should also offer a small discount if you do re-use one. I highly recommend Luca's. The food, drink, staff and ambience all make it a great neighborhood eatery.

I loved this place the first three times I went for lunch - good simple food, excellent baked goods, lovely staff, pleasant room, easy parking. But then I went for dinner and was deeply disenchanted. Eggplant and zucchini appetizer was dull and boring. The pizza was awful - completely soggy, drowning in dreadful tomato sauce. The salad was over-dressed. And then the waiter forgot to order our pasta dish. They were very gracious and took it off the bill, but it was a truly disappointing meal.

Don't go if you expect a metal-free meal! After over a 12 hour day, with an hour and a half commute, I dropped by to pick up a late night feast for my fiancé and myself. After picking up what appeared to be a totally erroneous $45 order (who needs 3 side salads?!!) I started on my soup. After happily consuming 3/4 of the lukewarm substance, I pulled what happened to be an undone PAPERCLIP out of my SOUP!! PAPERCLIP as in metal, sharp-edged object, not-to-be-consumed or absorbed by your digestive tract! So, when I called and spoke to "one-of-the-managers, Brad" he explained to me that "he wanted to see it" and asked me to come BACK to the restaurant to show proof. I'm sorry, but are you kidding me?! Not only did I travel and hour and a half home to stop along the way to pick up the wrong, overpriced order (AND pay $45 at that), only to nearly eat a piece of metal and to be asked to drop it off to show proof. Riddic. Brad's ("one of the managers") only resolve was to offer a $40 credit on a mystery account they created for me. Nice Brad, real N I C E. Moral of the story: don't go if you want your food to be clean! My fridge is now stocked with uneaten (and never to be eaten) food, and I've apparently gained some mystery credit never to be used. Way to go Luca on Sunset! You've just earned yourself 1 star and a nice little letter to the board of health!

Nice surrounding but a little confused when we first walked in..no one to great us and we did not know if we ordered at the counter or not. Pasta was better than I expected. I ordered the special tuna pasta. The cauliflower soup was also better than expected. Portions were great for the price.

This place is really fantastic! It's exactly what this neighborhood needs. I logged on to add my review, and expected to see 5 stars across the board. I guess you can't please everyone all the time. I even introduced the world's pickiest, most critical, healthiest food snob of a (sweet) man here, and HE APPROVED! Not only did he Love the food, but he also commented on the "European style" (which is the biggest of compliments from this Austrian), and the spacious, modern decor. We like it so much we've had both lunch and dinner here on the same day! The owner, Luca, runs this place right. He is very personable and friendly, and seems to take care to make sure all of the patrons are happy with the experience. My personal favorites: the Caprese and Basil sandwich; Grilled Salmon; Chinese and Avocado Salad; the daily Vegetarian Soup; the coffee must be Italian-excellent; and Vanilla/Apple Kombucha tea. Bonuses: doggie-friendly indoor/outdoor enclosed patio; free garage parking.

OMG sooooooo good. I've had their sandwhiches, salads, and omlette, as well as their "fruit juice sodas". Everything is better than the last, and the manager (and all the staff) is super nice and always wants to make sure you have a good experience.

I would like to thank Luca & Alberto for the wonderful hospitality that they offer day after day. They have made our family events so special as well as our afternoon tea times and breakfast times. I have never been in a restaurant where the owners and managers sit with you. This is one of a kind. Thank You Luca, Alberto, Rebecca and little Vivian. Tony, Glenda, Girls & Woofs

I exercise a lot. As a result, even though I adore all types of food, my daily diet is usually healthy and light. Unfortunately it's not an easy thing to do. Healthy food is expensive when done right and I don't usually have time for the restaurant wait. Well, Luca Giorgetti somehow tapped right into my frustration and granted me a convenient establishment that satisfies my daily food intake needs. Fresh, healthy, organic, well crafted food. It won't hurt my budget because the average item is less than $10. Not only that but the order-from-the-counter style won't hurt my precious time budget either. If you feel like just hanging out longer than the grab-and-go health kick, the environment is pleasant. It's modern feel fits right into the busy sunset blvd loft apartment building it's built into and the all wood and fresh plant aesthetic helps thematically tie into the natural organic food that I'm consuming. The beer and wine menu, as well as the coffee drinks and smoothies mean you can sit and socialize in the modern urban forest enivironment for as long as you like. The place is brand spanking new, so I can't say whether the middle to upscale social crowd is the norm, but I like it. This isn't the place I would come for a 5 star gourmet culinary creation but I wouldn't expect it at prices that mean I could eat here every meal without my accountant noticing. That doesn't mean the food isn't inspired.amya far too easy for a salad to disappoint, and fortunately the "funky beat" salad I ordered was just like a good conversation. Unique, interesting and genuine without pretense. Not dull, and pleasant enough to savor the time spent. I wouldn't say it blew my mind, but i enjoyed it a lot. Plus, you know the freshness and quality of the food you're consuming because the perfectly ripe fruits and vegetables are on display behind the counter adding authentic splashes of color to the woodsy cafe feel. The breakfast/brunch menu boasts a great range of choices from clever omelettes to bluecorn or multigrain pancakes, to yogurt and tailored granola. The smoothies are delicious and if u feal like indulging, they have a great pastry chef that makes all of the treats from scratch. The weakest meal would be the dinner entre section as they only have skewers. Although they look really tasty. I wouldn't call it life changing, but this is the kind of place I'm going to be eating on a daily basis to reduce my cardio time in the gym. Kudos to the friendly staff and Luca for changing my dietary routine for the better. Four stars for being exactly what I want after the gym! When you feel like a bite of something fresh, I highly recommend Fresh Bites!!!

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch in LA. The staff is very friendly and attentive, it stems from the owner's (Luca) attitude, super friendly and very personal with every single person that walks in thru the door. The restaurant is very comfortable, and clean. Its healthy California italian menu has a lot of fresh and easy dishes priced very reasonably. Specials are always great options, if you see the tuna or the balsamic chicken on the board, go for it. With all the other options to eat around town, I find myself going there 3-4 times a week. Just love the whole experience. If you have room for dessert, try one of their in-house pastries or cakes. One of the best neighborhood places in West Hollywood.

Yum. Yum. Super YUM. Tons of vegetarian options! Loved the 1/2 soup,1/2 salad combo. Asian salad is deliciously crunchy and light and the sweet potato black bean soup was warm & decadent. The portions are large, and you DEF don't feel like you just had 1/2! The brew their own kombucha. Which I have a huge obsession with... Next time I will try. I had the Iced Coffee this time w/ almond milk. They also have a fully stocked juice bar... Sweeeet. Sitting outside on a perfect Cali day is also a perk.

First time being here, and was impressed. The space is very nice with wood from floor to ceiling. Sat and looked at the menu next to a gas fire inside. I ordered the pesto pasta and a margharitta pizza. Everything was very good and 'fresh' and the gentleman at the register was very nice. Halfway through our dinner someone brought over a couple slices of lemon cake for us to try. Nice place to eat and nice staff. I think will come back!

Love love love this place! The staff is so friendly and the food is always fresh. I come here with my girlfriends to grab a glass of wine and split a few appetizers or to enjoy a healthy dinner. Their menu is gluten-free and butter- free friendly :) you might meet Luca himself if you are lucky ! He is such a sweet man!

I am generally one of those unhelpful people who reads a lot of Yelp reviews, but doesn't contribute much. But I had to stop and go out of my way to say just how much I enjoy Luca, both for the food and the people. Luca (the owner) is almost always at his restaurant providing a warm welcome to all and thoughtful conversation to the regulars, of which I am one of many. The servers are incredibly nice, the food is prepared with great attention to health, and of course everything is tasty. My favorite brunch and lunch hang-out spot in LA, by a lot.

Lately, I have been coming here for my morning coffee/read/email/hustle routine. MUCH better then coffee bean across the street. Come for morning organic pasquini coffee and a house made pastry, stay for lunch. Fresh soup is my go to. My favorite is the mushroom. Second favorite - tomato basil. No cream - all vegetables. The kale caesar salad is pretty nice too. LOVE this neighborhood place.

I decided to try out Luca after a screening at Out Fest and was deeply disturbed by something that happened during my meal. A homeless man came in and the owner (Luca) walked up to him and asked him to leave. The man resisted, Luca grabbed him and they all-out brawled in the front of the restaurant. Two other customers joined in and started punching and kicking the homeless man. Once the homeless man was on the ground, another customer came up and kicked him full force in the face. He was thrown out and everyone continued eating their food. Luca brought the customer who'd kicked the man in the face some ice for his foot and THANKED HIM. I asked my waitress what had happened and she told me the homeless man had asked for a glass of water. I am appalled and disgusted at this display of senseless violence and will encourage anyone who'll listen never to patronize Luca on Sunset. I'm not sure what happened to the man, but I hope he's okay.

I find the reviews about stomach aches on this page funny. You can't expect to eat cheese loaded pasta, bread and pizza for each meal and not get a stomach ache. You need a nutritionist. Moving on.... My boyfriend and I come here all the time since we live across the street and have been for several years. The food is fresh, fairly healthy and still surprises me sometimes. For example, each valentines day they have a special menu. Last Vday, they served a pink beet soup (had a goat cheese heart in it!), some sort of buttery delicious white fish, over the best mashed potatoes Ive ever had and perfectly roasted brussel sprouts with toasted hazelnuts and balsamic reduction. Then it had some crazy mousse dessert. OMG it was good. On a typical day, we get the soup/salad combo - all salads are good but I usually get the Bandito and one of the pureed soups though all are good. Another good one is the Turkey meatloaf w/ turkey bacon mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Its italian style meatloaf and its amazing. They also have smoothies, and other healthy beverages plus breakfast. The owner, Luca is super friendly and is there all the time greeting you and recognizes his loyal customers. I hope they never go out of business!

Tried LUCA for the first time this week and I'm a big fan. The decor is elegant, but at the same time warm and inviting. The staff were all friendly and helpful. And the food was fantastic. The black tea was a little too earthy for my taste, but the coffee was divine. Their Chef Specials combine lots of tasty menu items: I enjoyed the Tuna sandwich, which was a very generous portion, with a big bowl of soup. I love when soups combine ingredients I haven't tasted together like their Black bean and Yam soup, deeeelicious! Our meal ended perfectly with complimentary chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies, great touch. I'll certainly be back for seconds!!

Went here for the first time last week to do homework and was very happy with my visit! I had a tuna melt, tiramisu, and fresh juice which was all very good! I also love how they are open until midnight. Food was amazing! Especially if you are always in search of healthier options, this is the place to go! They have a variety of options that are gluten free and low carbs. They even try to make their desserts healthy! Service was excellent! Our servers Charles and Christian were very friendly and helpful with the menu. They have outside and indoor seating which is great especially since the weather has been great out! I definitely recommend going, my first time there was last week and I've already been back twice!

Well, what can I say? When you ruin an omelet, maybe you shouldn't be in the kitchen. The waiter was very nice, and the atmosphere was all right. Great outdoor siting, but seriously?? ruining an omelet?? That's like rule 1-0-1 of gastronomy!

I'm really not sure what all the rant is about when it comes to Luca. It's a cool spot and has nice ambiance with great service, but the food is nothing to speak of. I have eaten here three times and ordered different things each visit, each time hoping it would prove my previous experience uniquely bad, and each time it only reaffirmed my sentiments that their food is simply mediocre and extremely overpriced. Definitely a disappointment.

My girlfriend and I have been coming to luca since we moved in down the street. Originally it was just the local place to grab a bite. But it turned into a place where we were welcomed back everytime with not just the great food we have always gotten but by personal customer service. Roberto, the owner, and the rest of the staff always greet us warmly and happily- they make us feel like home! Chicken bolognese is our favorite and have to get it everytime. We also learned the correct pronunciation of bruschetta (thank you Roberto!) so when we went to Italy we were like locals. Lol. To sum it up- great food! Great service! Great place to make a regular spot for lunch or dinner!!!

I recently moved to West Hollywood, and have been on the lookout for great tasting, healthy food. I tried the Greek olive salad at Luca and I have to say it was probably the best salad I've ever had in my life. I've also had the Salmon with sun-dried tomatoes with a side of grilled veggies. It was absolutely mouthwatering. The service is good, but not quite excellent, so I'm giving them 4 stars. I'm definitely hooked, and I look forward to trying more of the menu.

Everything was amazing!! From Inga and Julian to the great food on the menu, this place is a delight to frequent. Everything the chef here has made seems to take you on one adventure or another. If it is one thing I like to do when I dine, is take an adventure. Tonight it was the Fennel salad to start, venturing through a very fragrant arugula, fennel, onions and great lemon vinaigrette. A nice aromatic salad. Being the two of us, and neither of us eat to much, we split a chicken, mushroom and artichoke soup with the roast beef and parmesan sandwich. Not much of a fan for cold beef, I have to say the pairing of the different ingredients of this sandwich had me wanting for more! The soup was a nice one, with Inga letting us know that it was not a cream based soup, as most americans know and have come to love in soups with mushroom in it. Definitely will be making this a to do on our late night adventures in the Hollywood/West Hollywood escapades.

Eh,.to be honest, liked the atmosphere, but the dinner, we both got the fish special, which was the red snapper,.. Everything just had a bland taste, probably won't go back ,. Definitely wasn't bad,. But no flavor to anything either,. Maybe was the blandest meal we've ever had,

I live right around the corner and met a friend for lunch today. I thought the portions were huge= (great, sure, can't complain) the service was really great, we had a nice waitress and the runners/bussers were great and overall the food and atmosphere was nice. I will absolutely be back! Oh, and they have fresh juice too which I think is nice and cookies at the end of the meal! Big, extensive menu for vegetarians and meat lovers..

I stopped in here for dinner after a movie at the Sunset 5. At first, I HATED this place -- the menu was completely uninteresting, everything sounded bland and health-oriented, and the bread they served us was terrible. I ordered the flat iron steak because it was the only thing that sounded remotely appetizing. And then I tasted it. Man, that was a pretty darn good steak. And the sundried tomato sauce I got with it was very tasty. The sides were a little strange -- again, none of the choices sounded good, so I picked two cold sides, orzo pasta salad and corn and black beans -- but not bad at all, and I actually quite liked the pasta salad. It was just weird having cold side dishes with a steak. I felt like I was on a picnic. Our waiter wasn't the greatest. He never voluntarily came to our table except to take our order and bring us our food. But he kind of fit with the whole mellow vibe of the place -- casual, unhurried, relaxed -- so I didn't mind that much.

I have come a few times since 2011 and while I love the location and feel their service is quite caring... I enjoy their food less and less. My last visit, my friend like his fish well enough ... and I had a salad with soup and their kombucha. The salad was good with goat cheese, but my soup tasted like a salt bath and I couldn't discern the cauliflower it was supposed to be and my kombucha was over it's prime fermenting window--really over-fermented. I make my own kombucha so I have some awareness of this-- It should be used for other things and not for drinking when it becomes that sour! I sipped it anyway b/c I know it still has some health value... I had gone a few times before and found the dishes less and less remarkable and very salty, so I will go for the convenience factor, but not so much for the food anymore. I do appreciate that they have lots of options and relatively fresh veggie juices!

They get 5 stars for a few reasons: free parking for 2 hours in West Hollywood. How many places can you say that about?! Also, as I was sitting, working away on my laptop, using the FREE wifi, they bought out a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie!! How amazing is that. And I was just craving something sweet, as I had finished my delicious vegan mushroom soup and Chinese salad with avocado. I still can't get over the fact they gave me a free cookie?! I looked at the guy like he was crazy! He probably thought I was crazy... But everyone in the restaurant at that hour (2ish) got a free cookie! Anyway they also have super clean restrooms and a nice, friendly staff. I will be coming here more often. I almost can't wait to come back.

Ate breakfast at Luca on Sunset today. I had challah french toast with apples. The taste of the french toast was good but there were some parts that was soggy that's why I took some points off. I wanted green tea but they were out of both green tea selection on their menu so I ordered Chamomile tea instead. The tea came in a french press which was okay though I would have preferred a teapot but it was okay. The tea though tasted watered down and resulting brew was murky and brownish-pink in color which was not very attractive when poured in a white teacup. The service was good and my server was attentive. The atmosphere was comfortable with plenty of seating areas. I will give this place another try to see if other entries are better than the one I had today.

I am actually writing this review at the restaraunt! At first I thought it was a cafe, but it's a restaurant. A pretty good one at that. Everyone is so nice! The server even asked if I wanted some focaccia with my meal. The food is great too! I got the turkey meatloaf with steamed spinach and curried quinoa. I highly recommend the quinoa! The portion sizes are pretty generous too! So go forth and eat!

Very solid meal. My buddy and I shared the eggplant parm appetizer and I ordered the mushroom pasta with whole wheat noodles. Service was quick and I got to watch a little of the Patriots game on the numerous HDTVs on the wall. Would definitely return as the prices are fair and the food is tasty! Definitely a good selection for vegetarians, which is a bonus (but it's hard to come here when Veggie Grill is right next door).

Very friendly staff, even when they were almost at closing. Tasty tea, and they gave a whole big press full of it. The cakes we got were a bit above average but not great. Prices reasonable but maybe a bit high? Typical for a place with nice decor and location like this though. As indicated, nice decor and ambiance. There were TVs in the place but not blasting and not in-your-face, they were out-of-the-way which was nice. I'd go again if i was in the area but I probably won't be seeking it out any time soon.

Had the breakfast plate, eggs, turkey bacon, buckwheat pancakes. The pancakes were my favorite part. Buckwheats are so moist and flavorful, fresh maple syrup only exaggerated the taste. We were greeted by Luca, who seemed very happy to have us. Can't go without those Buckwheats for too long. They're mouth-watering.

Before reading my review any further, you should know that it is coming from the voice of a regular. My boyfriend and I first discovered this place driving looking for a place to eat (3 months ago) and we've been hooked ever since. I probably eat here about 2-3 times a week, no joke. I've yet to eat something on the menu I didn't like. I've had every salad and they are all huge and exceptional. The soups and sandwiches are superb, too. (I'm being so broad because I could write a novel if I wanted to, but I'd like people to actually read this). However, the pizza wasn't anything out of this world, so I'd save yourself the calories. When I get the chance, I always try to make it for breakfast because its my favorite meal of the day. On weekdays it ends at 10 and on weekends it ends at 3. I have ventured around the menu from omelette, to breakfast sandwich, to granola and oatmeal. Sometimes I even just order egg whites and toast because their raspberry jam is out of this world. Nothing disappoints ever. I usually make a decision depending on just how hungry I am--the omelette meals can be quite filling because they come with potatoes, fruit, AND toast (be sure to ask for the raspberry jam!!!). If you want to stick with something lighter get the granola with almond milk. YUM. As for the ambience, it suits the natural and organic feel. There are outlets on the floors everywhere and free wifi so its a great study spot. All the employees I have ever encountered have always been helpful and friendly. PS-Keep your fingers crossed for complimentary bread and/or cookies. The pastry chef knows what she is doing! If you really have a sweet tooth, get the lemon coconut cake. It is cake straight from heaven, I swear.

Fresh Bites is like that chick that you pass by in the hallway, but never took a minute to really take a good look at her. Then once you do, you realize that she's the girl of your dreams. You wanna talk about good food at fair prices? Advertisers call it value. I call it a no brainer. The food is fresh, organic, and delicious. I got the grilled sea bass with broccoli and substituted mashed potatoes for rice. It was only $15, which I think you be at least $5 more at a similar restaurant. The cup of soup is the size of a bowl of soup anywhere else. I got a big bowl of oatmeal with cranberries and bananas for $6. You can't pay that little for such big portions anywhere else in the area. There's seating outdoors on the sidewalk or inside with a television playing Sportcenter. To top it all off, they have an area that is actually indoors that allows dogs. Jack and Maddy loved it! The staff are very friendly, attentive, and nice. I noticed that they remembered the names of regulars. It's the kind of place that people spend hours hanging out, so feel free to hop on the free WiFi and stay a while if you like. Park in the parking garage and they will validate your parking.

I came here for the first time this weekend. Been eyeing this place down for a while since it's right by my house.. OMG was I pleasantly surprised. This place is everything. Healthy food, great variety and not that $$$. Had the Salmon Omlette with capers and spinach... Can't remember the last time something tasted so good. The staff was pretty amazing as well. Def. recommend this place to everyone.

One of my FAVE local eateries. It's the type of place you can go back to again and again, because the food is delicious AND healthy. They don't use much butter, mostly organic produce and locally-sourced stuff. I usually order the half soup/half salad (giant portion, btw). I like the Chinese & Avocado salad w/ whatever special soup they have that day (often carrot or a black bean/yam combo). Everything tastes simple and homemade, nothing fussy or gimicky. The peach iced-tea is my jam, but, I indulge in something from the espresso bar every now and again, too. You get complimentary cookies with the check. My favorite is the molasses cookie...yummm. Service is friendly and attentive; Luca is often there himself overseeing everything and waiting on tables. His passion for this place really shows in every inch of the restaurant. It's a great place for lunch meetings or just a quick bite. I've never been for dinner, but, that needs to change soon!

Not a fan, too healthy for me. I thought the food a bit bland. Restaurant seems cold and hard, wood and glass. Staff was nice, but never asked if our food was good. 10 -12 bucks for breakfast offerings. Came here after seeing the line at Griddle. Won't go back, but its just not my cup o tea. If you are into organic, veggies, wheat or gluten free. Maybe you eat a special diet, then this would be a good choice.

Luca greeted us- really great guy. I had one of the salads, with chickpeas. It was so tasty and filling- I scarfed it up, unlike a salad I had the next day, which I kept comparing to this salad. I also had a juice, with celery- there was too much celery so that it had that salted celery taste. I added a little stevia and it cut the taste- so it was drinkable. I just dont really like salt. Overall- if I lived in LA, I would frequent this healthy and tasty restaurant. They also allow dogs- in a true outdoor eating space and in a semi-enclosed eating space. Cudos

Let's be real - this place is good, but it's not 4.5 stars good The best thing about Fresh Bites is that it's a place where people who are super picky about flavor and health can go - wait, I just described myself... But I only hit up Fresh Bites for two reasons: 1, my amigos want to go so I join (happily) or 2, I am wayyy too lazy to go to whole foods to buy and grill/steam my own vegetables so I come to Fresh Bites and have someone do it for me (I love that I can ask them to make my veggies without oil and they don't kick me out of the restaurant). The grilled proteins, veggies, and homemade soups are all pretty good. Also, if you're in the mood to indulge on things like the small pizzas or choco chip cookies, you won't be disappointed. All this being said, I just changed the # of stars in this review from three to four cuz it is pretty cool that a place like this exists.

I just went to Luca's the other night for dinner with friends and was terribly unimpressed. The greeters, as I like to call them, were very nice. We all ordered dinner and I was pleased to hear that I could switch out my sides, so I did. The side I chose came with an ingredient not listed. Now, why would you list TWO but not a third ingredient? I happen to not be able to eat said ingredient. I asked the waitperson what it was and she confirmed what I thought. She asked if it was an issue and I said I couldn't eat it, but c'est la vie. She then specifically asked if I was allergic, in a weirdly interrogatory tone, and I replied no, it just made me ill. THEN and only then did she explain that her query was in regard to contamination on the plate and did I want her to bring a different one? I thanked her but said no, this was enough. Well, the fish was bland as bland could possibly achieve and my veggies had very briefly visited the grill top. That doesn't work so well with eggplant. No flavor. Anywhere on the plate. My friends said much the same thing about their pasta dishes. I won't be back. Me no likey derisive treatment about my tummy problems and truly, they need to put ALL the ingredients (or none) on the menu. If none are there, I'll ask.....but partial info helps no one. And eggplant isn't yummy half raw, salt or no salt.

I don't get the rave reviews about this place. The food is uninspired and below average. Nice enough atmosphere, tho. This place is a cafe, though, and nothing more. Could benefit immensely from some simple decor changes, but unfortunately what they could benefit even more from is salt. Where's the flavor? I add salt to my dishes maybe three times a year - this one one of those meals. The menu just isn't interesting.

New favorite place!! Cant believe how great this place is. Amazing portions, fresh, healthy, dog friendly, free desserts?! Seriously?? I had the tortilla soup and beet salad, was very filling and well priced considering how much food there was. Husband got the Turkey and Brie sandwich and was very satisfied, too. I love how there's no pressure to hurry and leave after your meal. Lots of people were reading and working around us. Even Flo Rida was chatting away on his cellphone while enjoying a lunch alone! (love Sunset Blvd) I will definitely be back. This is a #WIN.

This is my go-to place for weekend brunch. Why? -They are open early! -Unlike at the Griddle, there's no long line to wait in! -Also, unlike the Griddle, the food is delicious but healthy and not artery-clogging! And the coffee is amazing! -Fresh Bites also has outdoor seating and modern decor. And it's cafe-style, meaning you order at the counter and then they bring out your food, so you don't even have to tip, although you should because the staff is so nice! -What else can I say? I love it here.

We have been coming here for quite some time now and it's continuously been consistent with the service and the food. You will always see the same servers here which is a good sign- low turnover! The very friendly and talented cooks are behind a glass wall over looking into the dining room which is amazing. Luca spared no expense when building this place. His infamous motto: "no salt or butter in cooking" I think turns some of LA away but most of LA are health conscious freaks like my bf and myself and we love it. We can't get enough of this place. We meal prep during the week but on the weekends we like sitting down in a nice restaurant with ambiance and enjoying a meal together- a meal which we don't feel like crap about or have to unbutton our pants afterwards because we ate like fat as*es. :) come to think of it we probably eat here Friday Saturday and Sunday haha it's just so hard to find healthy food in west hollywood. I usually get the cranberry & avocado salad and add grilled chicken it's one of my favorite salads in the world! My boyfriend gets the salmon or 1/2 chicken plate with vegetables and spinach on the side which is just as amazing as well and as promised no salt or butter! Thank you luca for making this place our #1 go to spot in west hollywood! Please stay here forever!!! :)

So we were going to go for breakfast at the Griddle, but of course the line was two blocks long and we were starving. Neither of us had really had enough coffee to make an alternate decision, but I had just gotten the new iphone, so I took the opportunity to try out Siri and ask here where we should go for breakfast. She found 3 restaurants near us which served breakfast, of which Fresh Bite was one so we went. The restaurant is a clean, well lit, comfortable and relaxed place. It's the kind of place where you might bring your laptop and hang out all afternoon and work for a change of scenery. The service is extremely friendly, and the breakfast came quickly, and was pretty good. I had an egg sandwich, and the only thing really I could fault it for was that the toast was a little burned on the bottom. I always kinda feel that when toast is burned and served to you with the burned side down that that means someone saw that it was burned, and rather than fix it, just turned the burned side down. I realise that probably only happens about half the time, but, well, there it is. But that's a small complaint, and we'll definitely go back. The other thing I really appreciated about it was that it was really quiet. There were only three or four people there with us at 9a on Sunday morning... people obviously haven't caught on to the fact that Fresh Bites serves a good breakfast value as well. Parking is free and validated in the garage you enter around the corner.

Ate lunch here over a business meeting. If I were to open a restaurant/eatery this is exactly what I've been describing as all of my close friends can attest. Breakfast till 3pm, fresh ingredients through out, with lots of healthy but delicious options to fulfill that after workout hunger. This may be one of my favorite spots so far in this area.... Luca helps me continue to fit inside racecars ;)

This place had to be hands down the best place I ever had breakfast. The food and service were completely outstanding. My friends and I wanted to go to the Griddle for breakfast, but the wait was outrageous. So we ended up finding a parking space right in front of Fresh Bites and decided, why not? I looked on Yelp and saw so many fantastic reviews that I agreed it was a great idea to try this place. The cashier was extremely helpful with explaining the menu and the concept of the restaurant. The prices were extremely reasonable as well...especially for LA. The manager was so personable and client oriented, I was completely amazed. He even gave us complimentary banana bread which was out of this world. I ordered the artichoke and goat cheese omelet, which came with tasty potatoes and fruit. I was full after finishing half of the omelet...but it was soooo good I decided to eat it all. My other friends were happy with their omelets and my friends hot chocolate looked (and what she concurred) amazing. She ordered an apple danish that I ended up also finishing....to die for. When I am back near Sunset....I am definitely going back there.

Ate here a lot when I was volunteering nearby and the food is pretty darn good. Very fresh, and with an interesting menu. The resto is billed as a "fresh, Californian" take on Italian dishes and it's a great substitute for all those LA-ers that have food, dietary restrictions. The dishes are reasonably priced and they have awesome real sugar, no additive sodas as well. My favorite was the root beer. I've had several of their pasta dishes (since they catered a number of times) and they are all pretty awesome. But the last meal I had was their tuna toasty melt with roasted potatoes, a Root beer soda, and some cookies that the owner just threw in because... well our event had been there for days lol. The melt was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.... not at all flavored by the fact that I had been helping to move all morning. ;-), the tuna mix was a great consistency, bread just perfectly pressed without being burnt, and the cheese evenly melted. I usually don't eat all of those kinds of sandwich melts (portions usually fine, it's just that I lose interest) but I ate all of that one. Luca's on Sunset is definitely a try... maybe I'll hit up that place instead of The Griddle for when I'm next up that way.

Everything is amazing here. I had the salmon, veggie pizza with no cheese, cookies (yum! especially the snicker-doodle one) and tiramisu. Plus, a decaf coffee at the end of the meal. Everything is cooked with no butter and to perfection. The staff is so nice and accommodating and the owner is genuinely interested in his customers having the best experience possible at his restaurant. I can't say enough about this healthy (yet so flavorful) place! It's worth the drive and that is saying a lot from me, since I like my South Bay bubble. So go!

  • Wolf Yener O.

I only had their pizza and it was soggy, mush. I hated it. It gave me a stomach ache because it was so doughy and cheesy. Service sucked. There's an Scandinavian girl has no opinion on anything with a frozen face. And there's a loud obnoxious african american gay server with an awful attitude. You're still not lucky if you don't run into him because he turns this restaurant into his stage. Sad thing of it all I heard good things about this place. I'll give them a second chance for their breakfast service but dinner was horrible.

    (1)
  • Silas S.

Their coffee, namely the vanilla latte, desserts and salads are the only thing salvageable. Most of their sandwich and pizzas are very bland and not worth the cost or disappointment your taste buds will endure. I wanna reiterate though their coffee is to die for. If you're a latte fan then their organic vanilla latte is like a dessert itself.

I love the buckwheat pancakes here! So moist and fluffy, and.. is buckwheat healthy? cause if so, that's icing on the cake :) Also tried the breakfast calzone, it was delish as well. They have smoothies with interesting herbs like basil, or ginger. We got a strawberry ginger smoothie, and it wasn't the best in the world, but it was tasty. They give you this focaccia-ish bread and some dipping oil infused with some kind of chili. That was a nice starter, and they also give you little cookies to end with. We got chocolate chip and snickerdoodle/sugar. They have a really cute patio and were super friendly to our dog. Yay!

The quality of the food is quite high as is the tastiness. The recipes for every dish I have had bear no resemblance to the standard flat taste of the typical restaurant. The service is friendly, efficient and professional and best of all the prices are a bargain. I often have lunch there, the Greek salad is great, the sandwiches, whether Caprese, Egg Salad or Two Cheese are a cut above the norm in tastiness and the espresso is the best in the neighborhood. Be sure to have a complimentary cookie, the oatmeal a favorite. My only critique is the decor, it is a bit brittle in spite of what is evidently an investment greater than typical. Finally, Luca is a charming and friendly host.

Healthy little spot up in my neighborhood, will definitely go back. The service is a little slow, but the food was good. I had the turkey brie sandwich and the goat cheese and beat salad. Both were yummy, the salad was enormous fyi. The fresh juices are also a treat and reasonably priced for the area. You can park in the garage off Hayworth and they validate which is a plus.

Luca's is a great place. Occasionally eat lunch here and it's always a delight to walk in and say hi to Luca. He's a class act himself and is a true repreentation of his restaurant. How often do you see the livelihood and passion for one's restaurant show on a daily basis by interacting with the customers. The food is tasty and healthy, which is a nice addition to any area. My favotire thing to get are the toasty bites and the pasta dishes. The pizza certainly isn't bad and the prices is moderate. The inside is very inviting and relaxing. You can go with a group of friends, on a date, or by yourself to enjoy some coffee and a book or to do some work. Overall, just a great atmosphere.

Finally came in here the for the first time last night and am so happy we did. I hail from Austin, Texas where a good majority of restaurants pride themselves on local, organic ingredients, so I was stoked to hear about this place. Our waiter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu and didn't hesitate when reciting the specials. I wanted to do a sandwich and soup combo (which isn't exactly on the menu) and he simply said, "I can absolutely do that for you." I opted for the Pumpkin Puree soup, which is seasonal, and the Tuna on a scooped, whole wheat baguette (very carb friendly, people). Not only did it come out in a timely manner, the soup was hot (not warm) and the bread was toasted perfectly. The baguette is rather small, which was fine with me, but maybe not for someone with a heartier appetite. THE SOUP, HOLY MOLY was absolutely phenomenal- thick, silky and stunningly delicious. I was pretty much born with a habanero pepper in my mouth, so we asked for a side of chili sauce (which their version of it was this delicious chipotle based puree). A dollop of that in the soup shot it straight to heaven and the food gods rejoiced. I am not sure if they had any Cholula or Tabasco, but with this stuff, that was just fine with me. And let's be real- a tuna sandwich is typically a tuna sandwich, but the addition of the artichokes, arugula, basil, dijon, and roasted garlic pesto brought new meaning to the Chicken of the Sea. The prices rock, the portions I find to be perfect, the service made you feel very welcomed and attended to, and the food has this casual brilliance about it. Local, organic, AND delicious? Done. I look forward to meeting Luca himself one of these days and this cookie y'all speak of!

This spot is exactly what I need when I am trying to be on the current health kick I'm on! Great fresh food! Great staff. Nice outdoor patio. A little steep in the price range and the seating is a little weird, but other than that Great spot to Eat Fresh Healthy Food!

25 hours in LA, trying to squeeze in as many meals as possible. This was Sunday morning breakfast. Luca won the prize by opening at 7:00. We were the first guests of the day when we got there at 7:30. God I love being old and boring sometimes. One of those times being early morning breakfast at places that will be too damn busy after 10. Discount, validated parking is a real plus, given the location. Great OJ. Almost kept our coffee cups full the entire time. Lots of egg options. When I saw bakery in the description, I envisioned more pastry, scone, breakfast bread options, as well as more carb filled menu options (pancake and frech toast variety), but hey, it's LA. The frech toas and egg breakfast hit the spot. As much as I like carbs in the form of bread, I don't see the point of serving wheat toast along with french toast. Not much staff visible, but what do you need with only one party in the place? Waitress was very friendly, but could have slipped by a bit more frequently. Good OJ and food. Attractive space. Parking. Open at 7:00AM. That's sure enough to get me back, and next time I think I'll be trying some of those breakfast potatos that smelled amazing as I walked by the food line. Thanks again Yelp!

I've come here a few times out of convenience because I used to live in the area and this place was literally across the street. It's nice because it's never too crowded, just a good place to relax and catch up with a friend. I usually get their potato pizza which is pretty good, but I tend to like anything that has potato in it. I've also had their chicken bolognese pasta, which was just OK. Seemed like something I could make myself with a jar of Prego, some dry pasta, and ground chicken. I've had their chocolate mousse cake once which was actually very delicious and such a huge slice that 3 girls could not finish it. All-in-all though, I don't really have any desire to go here on my own, but I would go if a friend wanted to go here and invited me.

Healthy, organic, and still delicious! My only suggestion: I wish the chef would take some more chances with the menu. The Raging Rabbit (Carrot, Apple, Beet) juice was perfect. A nice surprise was their homemade hot sauce: flavorful and smokey with a kick.

Another place on Sunset that is constantly over looked. Breakfast is served till 3pm, which is great for late start weekends, or day after late nights. The food is on another level in terms of taste, I personally love the healthy multigrain pancakes. Everything on the menu is always fresh and seasonal. Great place to grab a bite and catch up with people, I get in some of my best catch up talk here.

Luca is great! Got to meet the man himself, which is always cool, and the food was nice and fresh. I had the beet salad without the goat cheese, and my friends got a turkey burger and another salad with chicken. It was the perfect meal to have on the outside patio on a warm day.

The prices are great, ambiance great, service was good, food was okay. I have been here 2x now and haven't been entirely impressed with the food, but its good and hits the spot, especially at a decent price. I think my favorite part about this restaurant is the decor and cozy feel of the place. I tried the pasta and soup combo. Both were okay. The mushroom pasta definitely could use cream (even if its the unhealthy choice) so I will make sure to request that next time. Otherwise, great little spot.

DANK... i live in the area and recently stumbled in here for a green drink (Too Cool Kuke) and have become quite the regular ever since! if you're looking for a good salad try the Beets & Goat and add chicken and avocado if that's yo thang. The tomato basil soup and chocolate chip cookies are also great. All I can say is go here. Your stomach will be happy (and its healthy!).

I am going to add another great review to the heap. First off, STOP GOING TO TENDER GREENS AND START GOING HERE! Thanks :) I don't mean to use this to diss on Tender Greens, but for a long time, in my brain, there was only one place to go after working out for food - Tender Greens. But deep down I was unsatisfied. There, I said it. The meat at Tender Greens is fatty and pretty gross. And the salad dressings are not amazing and they never give you enough... God, please show me another way! Direct me to another reasonably priced organic place where I can get protein and vegetables! ENTER FRESH BITES. Oh, FB, where have you been my whole life? I discovered this place a few months ago and was ASTOUNDED by how good their juice was. It was so good I got tears in my eyes. Tears, people. They fresh squeeze everything. I had pineapple. It tasted like I was on freaking Maui. No joke. The food here is seriously fresh and it just tastes really good. And that's a big deal. They have healthy choices for when you are feeling fat and then they have feeling sorry for yourself and I deserve to eat something delicious choices for when you have just accepted you will be fat and you don't give a shit. Tonight I went with my friend and we both fell in love with our salads and as we were eating them and talking about how fat we feel this extremely sweet Italian gentleman, who I later discovered was the owner, came over to ask us if we needed anything and then BROUGHT US FREE DESSERT. WTFF? Free dessert? Nice people? Good salads and Barbecue Chicken? Orgasmic juice? Damn. I can't believe something this good happened to me. Please go there right now so it stays open! Also, they have gluten free options. Which is cool. Peace out.

I also love that they keep the noise levels down by putting glass walls in between seating sections.

Luca on Sunset is EXCELLENT! The owner has a welcoming spirit and the food and atmosphere make it a place I want to return to time after time. Healthy food that looks and tastes so good one would think they are cheating : ) Reasonable prices and very polite servers. Highly recommend and bring friends from out of town- represents LA in the best way. LOVED the pesto, chicken sand and avocado and cran salad! Can't wait to try the smoothies and Italian foods. Thanks for great dining - every time I go in.

I've eaten here on numerous occasions and have always come away very happy with the food and the service and Luca himself usually stops by the table to see how everything is. Their soups are awesome and the desserts are out of this world. One night the host strongly suggested we try the coconut cake that had been made that day. It was so good it actually brought tears to my girlfriend's eyes! We ended up buying another piece to take home and I'm not normally a fan of coconut. I like the layout and design they went with too, the bathrooms, everything.

Without a doubt, Fresh Bites is one of the best places to eat in the area. Not only is the food very good, but the service is some of the best I have ever received. I originally tried the place because it has some of the best smoothies I have ever tasted. My favorite is called the Pine App, which is a mixture of pineapple and apples and I think there is a pear in there as well. But it is seriously the best smoothie I have ever had. It is seriously worth getting daily. But besides the smoothie, I think the chicken is also very good as well as the salmon. The place also has tremendous sandwiches and salads. Plus the grilled veggies appetizer is also amazing. Everything is also extremely fresh and tasty. Plus they have Blue Sky soda, which for someone who does not drink soda really ever, is perfect because if I am going to drink soda, it is Blue Sky. The prices are also very fair. My girlfriend and I go for dinner, which includes an appetizer, two entries and two pineapps for dessert and it is usually $45, which is not a bad price. If I decide to have a sandwich instead of an entre, that brings the price down to around $38. The place also has a great atmosphere, where you can eat inside, in a little room in front of the restaurant or outside. Plus the fireplace is really nice, as well as the music and lighting. Fresh Bites is a great choice for a casual first date or when you are just hungry and want some good food. Overall, I can almost guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Since this is known as a pizza place, we shouldn't have been surprised. 4 of us had brunch here because the Griddle place was too busy. Just Ok, nothing special- all 4of us agreed. We all had omelette plates. Next time we are waiting for the Griddle Place.

I'm between three and four stars for Fresh Bites. On the one hand, I had the Chinese & Avocado salad, which was definitely worth 4 stars, maybe 4 1/2. I ate it all, and it was huge! Also a plus: they gave us complimentary cookies. It's got a nice atmosphere, and they validate parking. But my friend got a half Chicken & Pesto sandwich and it was not nearly as impressive as the salad. And the cookies, while free, weren't that delicious. Service was also sub-par. No one ever came to refill our drinks or follow up about our food. Stick with the salads.

I LOVE the food at Luca's! And the service is phenomenal! The best you can find in LA! It's a celebrity hot spot too! I always see Someone there! For example, 2 weeks ago I saw Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed. I also recently saw Chord Overstreet, Craig Kilborn, Emile Hirsche...oh and Trevor Donnovan! I come here a lot as I am a local and it is such a friendly and family oriented place, it really makes you feel like you are at home

An odd little healthy food place. I was greeted by pleasant staff with heavy but endearing accents. I smiled and asked for a table. My greeter, also my waitress, followed me to my table (yes, I led - apparently that's what we do here when it's empty). I settled. I ordered simple. I ordered clean. Grilled chicken breast, grilled veggies, several cups of coffee, and I was satisfied if not completely full. There was an unnecessary amount of rosemary bread given coupled with a chile infused oil (VERY mild actually) that I didn't dare eat...one touch with my fork I already knew - one bite with my lips and I could taste - it was dry...darnit, and here I was excited to be gluttonous. The food tasted decent but nothing impressive, no super juicy or mouth-watering samples were had. The menu was wide but nothing really appealed. The lighting was fair and the seating was plenty. The structure felt a bit like a modern cafeteria or upscale franchise diner. Staff were friendly but seemed confused and poorly trained. Price was pricey (justified as the value of "fresh") but where was the "wow" you usually experience with fresh cuisine? It's decent fresh food fare, but when you can easily walk down the street in either direction for something a bit tastier, less expensive, and just as healthy - it easily falls low on the recommendation list.

When I walked into Fresh Bites the first thing I thought was "fancy Veggie Grill". Even their decor and furnishings were very Veggie Grill-esque. While they don't sell themselves as a vegetarian spot, their menu is very health conscious - especially with their fresh squeezed juices and smoothies. The menu was nothing special and slightly overpriced. I got a huge bowl bowl of chicken chowder for $5. Nothing special....ever-so-slightly on the salty side. Loved the focaccia bread they gave us though- perfect with the soup! My roommate hated her pasta, she said the sauce was "soupy." The owner may have been trying to be friendly a personable, but he tried too hard and was just over-the-top friendly that it got kinda awkward. Overall, I think I'd rather just have gone to Veggie Grill.

Luca is awesome! The food is fresh, the salads are amazing and you leave feeling like you truly ate great food (that was healthy!) Charles is a great server and the whole vibe is laid back. Plus, I could do work and there was wifi! Definitely coming back all the time!

Great service, great food. When I'm looking for something quick and healthy Fresh Bites is my go to. Granted you have to call ahead if you don't want to wait during the lunch rush but that's easy to do. The prices are LA average and if you eat like me, your meal can feed you twice in one day. I always opt for the grilled chicken, spinach, grilled veggies and sundried tomatoe sauce. I've had friends try the sandwiches and salads as well and hear they are great. They also give you free bread and cookies (YUM!) Parking is available in the structure around the corner and usually free with a validation.

I went to Luca the first time this past weekend on a Saturday for a late breakfast around 11am and there were only a handful of people. After much debate since everything on the menu seemed to be exactly what I wanted and a little help from the extremely friendly waitress, I finally decided on getting the turkey croissant, which consisted of scrambled eggs, slices of turkey, mozarella, and pesto. This came with 3 small slices of watermelon and herbed rustic red potatoes. This breakfast was on the lighter side but SO satisfying. The croissant was buttery and crispy on the outside and everything inside came together deliciously. The potatoes are cooked to perfection and roasted enough to create a little crisp on the outside, just how i like it. The watermelon was sweet, unlike a lot of places that give you fruit that isn't very ripe. The entire meal went together harmoniously (yea, such a weird word to describe food but it's totally the word i need to use in this case). My boyfriend ordered the chicken hash, which I thought had great flavor but tasted like what I would imagine their chicken bolognese to taste like, not really like breakfast--still good though and their portions are actually perfect. Their meals are filling, satisfying, and relatively healthy; they won't make you feel like retreating back to your bed from a food/sugar coma. Also, get the fresh squeezed orange juice. It was more sweet than tart when I had it and was refreshing. So worth it!

After a long weekend of "festivities", sometimes all you really need is some greasy food. But since I didn't wanna do anymore damage than I had already done, I opted for a healthier alternative, Luca's on Sunset. An organic, healthy West Coast joint, Luca's offers some great healthy (and tasty) treats. To get my body back on track, I ordered a fresh pressed organic juice (carrots, beets, apple, kale), and an egg sandwich with turkey bacon, tomatoes, and avocados. I was fueled and ready for my Runyon Canyon hike!!! Thanks Luca!

This was one of my Saturday morning adventures, I had heard about this place from an associate and I was not really impressed...The food was ok....the service was horrible from the bus boy to our waitress both were CLUELESS.....I don't know which one was worse!!! The food however was healthy and was enough to satisfy. I would like to go back and try something else before I rule it out altogether. The art deco decor was really nice. The feel was very modern and classy.

Three of us went in to Luca on Saturday evening around 8PM, the restaurant next door was crowded but Luca had three tables of diners only. Should have been a clue. The waitress was fairly curt and short with us. I was in the mood for a sandwich but do not care for panini's as I do not like the bread dried out. I guess all the sandwiches on the menu are panini's event though they do not mention it anywhere. I feel like I was lied to and I'll never go back. Lousy server, lousy food!

Fresh, organic breakfast. Not greasy and not over done. My date had the turkey and ham omelet and raved about it. I had the beet and goat cheese salad with added chicken breast. It was HUGE and great! The chicken wasn't all that great but when eaten in combination with everything else it tasted just fine (alone I would have deemed it dry and sub par). They toss the salads with a lite amount of dressing which I love and give you a side dish of extra dressing in case you're a person that prefers more dressing over less. Great bread, and my date got a free cookie when he returned his decaf coffee because it was cold (a delicious ginger bread) other than that no free cookies with my red eye.... which was really good and awakening as to be expected! They have a patio which is lovely to dine in, but they do allow dogs in their patio, which I am a fan of, but, there was one very furry big dog who shook his fur out in the patio (yes, where people were eating) and his hair went flying. It was disgusting and I was glad to be no where near it.

Your body, heart, diabetes and everything else, right down to your pores, will thank you for going to Fresh Bites. Rather than feel guilty about eating, Fresh Bites makes you feel like you are doing something good for yourself while the food is incredibly delicious! But when I say healthy, I don't mean in a hemp, granular or Birkenstocks way. How to describe it: Welcoming. Clean. Warm woods. Sophisticated. Healthy foods with pizazz! The food is both approachable yet creative and cooked fresh to order. Place your order at the register, then find your seat and watch your food travel on a conveyor belt to the server. Cool! Love, love, love that they have French press coffee and real cups with a little tea biscuit perched on the saucer. The portions are generous and the manager often brings around samples of things to try -- score! And, this is really WEIRD, but the employees actually seem proud to work there. Wow. Extra points for being laptop friendly. Plenty of seating so you don't feel rushed to leave. The only dilemma is that The Griddle Cafe is less than a block away. Griddle? Fresh Bites? Griddle? Fresh Bites? Ah, to have such difficult choices!

Cute, clean atmosphere. Parking is just awful, but once you get in, its a big space with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The set up is similar to being in a cafeteria, you grab a menu, walk by a cook line, and order at the counter. There are food runners and drink runners who are fairly attentive, and big flat screens set to espn. There was one runner who was a bit creepy and tried to have a stare down with my legs. I asked him if there was something he lost, and he finally made eye contact and tried to ask me too many questions about my tattoos. I went here for brunch, it was too early for these shenanigans. I had the half pesto chicken sandwich, and it was pretty good, but had too many sprouts. I don't get sprouts. It's only technically food. But anyways, the sandwich was alright, but with some mozzarella and less (by less, I mean no) sprouts it would have been way better. The salad that came with it was surprisingly big for a 'side' but was just a green salad. Meh. The manager (?) did come by and bring us free fruitcake bread. At least, I think that's what it was. It was looking a bit questionable, but it was a sweet gesture.

Yay!! a place right by me with affordable GLUTEN FREE pizza!! And it is yuummmieeee. :) went in for lunch on Saturday, had pizza, tomato soup and the lemon cheesecake. Everything was delicious. loved the pizza even better than bjs. althought the choices are kind of limited, would like a typical green pepper, black olive, mushroom and onion :) but seriously, the gluten free pizza next door at the pizza fusion is way more pricey. I've been looking for a great place like this for a while and its so close to home. had about three different waiters, and it seemed perfect, not overly "can i get you something" but when I really did need something they were there.

I'd been intrigued by this place and seen the "coming soon" sign for what seemed like forever. So yesterday, I received a package in the mail from them "introducing themselves" to the neighborhood. There was a little letter, a menu (looked super yummy) and a discount card. Sold! Honey and I don't need to play the "what do you want?... I don't know... What do YOU want??" game. Dinner is decided. There is a lot off of Hayworth - (they validate for an hour... nice!) The place is modern, clean, looks expensive, but it's not. You order at the counter, and the kitchen is in clear view of the dining room. We were greeted by numerous employees while we decided on what to order. Everything looked delish! MAJOR BONUS: Whole wheat and gluten free options!! We decided to share a grilled veggie pizza, and a sun-dried tomato salad. The BF also had a side of steamed spinach. The salad was great... mixed baby greens, corn, garbanzos, sun dried tomatoes and hearts of palm. I actually preferred it without the dressing. I don't think I have ever said that about a salad before! When the salad came, the server explained the pizza would take a bit longer because the first one they made was a little burned. No biggie. Appreciate the heads-up. Then, another gentleman (later learned it was the owner) came and profusely apologized for the wait on the pizza. (Which really wasn't that long) and he said that he wasn't happy with how the first one came out, and didn't want to give it to us. Then, the first guy came back with some chocolate covered nut-cluster numminess. So the pizza came, grilled veggie on thin whole wheat crust. No cheese. AH mazing. How do they make a pizza so good without cheese??? I think we inhaled it in about 5 minutes. Maybe. It was really good. Food + glass of wine and bottle of water came to $25.00. Great deal. After we finished, we went back inside for a cookie for the road. We spent about 20 minutes talking to Luca, the owner. What a delightful man. I cannot think of the last time I patronized a place where the owner was so gracious, and truly passionate and proud of his restaurant. As we were chatting, at least three different people came up to him and sincerely thanked him for the great meal, shook his hand... the whole nine. There is a reason why most of the reviewers here know his name! Luca was so sweet to give us each a cookie and the most flavorful americano I have had (probably ever) gratis, and again apologized for the wait for the pizza. This will surely be our new spot. Great food, ambiance, and an owner you want to give your business to. Sold! A few notables: They have almond milk (!!!!!!!!!!) Wheat, and gluten free pastas, pizza crusts Smoothies Pastries and cookies breakfast!! They are open 7am-midnight Check it out!

Meh. I really WANT to love this place. It's close, the atmosphere is undoubtedly calming, nice, and 'fresh' (if you will) -- however their prices are rather steep (a downside of 'fresh') and almost misleading! A half sandwich is about $7, full about $12 -- seems steep, until you realize their 'half' is actually essentially a full, albeit on the smaller side, sandwich. So a 'full' sandwich is pretty much two meals worth when you account for the hearty side salad that's included. Tricky! Simple, standard options. To be honest, I was most exciting about their fresh juice bar, although those prices lean towards the high side as well. Very friendly service, but just not enough pizazz or spunk to differentiate itself from the other healthy simple eateries in the vicinity.

I've eaten here countless times for breakfast, lunch and dinner but I think today will be the last. I love the food and the service is usually great but today both were disappointing. We had to ask for water after our food had already been brought out and my smoothie was forgotten and then hastily made only after I asked for it. But, what made it such a negative experience was observing certain "VIPs" i.e. z-list actors, receive table service from the owner while we normal peons were forced to order at the counter. I am not against ordering at the counter in any way nor do I think it's wrong for the owner of a restaurant to be friendly and involved. However, offering certain people a different type of service in full view of other clientele is distasteful, rude and a good way to lose a loyal customer.

Fresh Bites reflects the classy owner Luca, whose style and personality permeates through the casual, spa like atmosphere. Every detail is fabulous and oh so detached from a typical American casual establishment. The airy, clean, simple yet stylish interior takes me back to the modern cafes of Tokyo (Asia) or Europe with the bamboo walls, tables and imported tiling and furniture. The food is just as enjoyable as every dish is simple with tastes that work. Time and care are clearly put into choosing fresh ingredients for every component (their salmon is nicely grilled and so juicy.) Don't forget to try the desserts and pastries lovingly made by Luca's girlfriend. Establishments like Fresh Bites makes me so grateful to be in LA, where awesome cost performance delicious food is so accessible!

This was an unexpectedly large place, and the outside seating was really pleasant - doesn't feel as if you are directly in the street and breathing in exhaust, which is how I feel at cafe midi. The new-agey music I could've done without, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. You go up and order at the register and grab a number, which isn't immediately apparent when you walk in. We got an almond croissant, the "magical mint" and "basil bombshell" smoothies ($4.50 each). The croissant was just okay, but it was 1pm so I couldn't expect much. The smoothies were really refreshing (I hate using that word in relation to juice, but I just can't help it) - the basil was more subtle, the mint quite a bit stronger, but both tasted like fresh fruit and very little sugar was used. Evidently there's a covered parking garage that you can enter on Hayworth (1 block E) and likely get validated for, but there was metered parking when I went. The service wasn't lightning-fast but pretty reasonable in terms of time. Looking forward to trying out some actual entrees here.

Great neighborhood place! The food is good, fresh and healthy; the decor is modern yet comfortable; and the service is great too. We had dinner here a few nights ago, and we will definitely be going back. Fresh Bites lives up to their name -- they use fresh ingredients and can easily customize a meal to whatever dietary needs you have. The food tastes really good, they have a wide variety of dishes available, and it's well-priced for the amount of food you get. Even though you order from the register, service is still very good -- we sat down to wait for a friend before ordering, and a waiter brought over water and asked if we needed anything without us even having ordered. It was cool to see them making our meals in the kitchen section and then send it down to the delivery area by conveyor belt, and it was brought out to us fairly quickly. The manager came over several times to make sure we were happy and see if we needed anything, and they even gave us mini-cupcakes after our meal. There's a parking lot in the building that they validate too, making going here even easier.

They may be a bit overpriced for food that I could probably replicate myself (maybe not by Hollywood's standards since I am speaking from the student perspective), but I am a fan of their service and desserts. Do yourself a favor and order the chocolate cake, paired with their drip coffee. Fresh Bites is generally my go-to place outside of school when finals week arrives. I would literally sit here for 10 hours at a time and not expect to be kicked out. And they still give me free refills on coffee and the occasional free cookie. Everyone is super-friendly, attentive, and they take care of you here. Bonus: Free wi-fi!

WOW. WOW. Beautiful setup and decor, lovely atmosphere, helpful staff. Luca, the owner, came out, welcomed us and thanked us for coming. Tried the greek salad, it was huge, and reasonably priced. Wasn't DRENCHED in dressing (I hate when places do that!). Also got a fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, so yummy. Great patio or indoor seating. I can walk here from my office! I think this place is a win win win win winner. Fresh, easy, delicious, and as far as I know, I didn't get salmonella. Good job.

My gay boyfriend and I decided to order the left side of the menu here one hazy LA afternoon when we were too lazy to get off his couch and stop judging the crazy guests on the Tyra Banks show. He only lives about a block away...but we called for delivery...and voi-la! Divine intervention stepped in and told us to get off our asses because guess what, they don't deliver. So here's what we ordered for takeout: Vegetarian Black Bean and Yam Soup ($4.50/cup): Their "cup" is enormous!! No need to order the "bowl" because this is more than enough. The soup was good...warm and comforting on a cold day. Chicken and Wild Rice Soup ($4.50/cup): My friend ordered this and said it was tasty. Guacamole ($6.95): Good, but a little bland...we added some of our own spices at home and it was much better! Caprese ($6.95): Mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, basil topped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, served with a toasted wheat baguette ....YUM!! Bandito and Ranch Salad ($9.75): romaine topped with tortilla chips, avocado, black beans, corn, olives, pumpkin seeds and a delectable salsa ranch dressing...all it was missing was a sprinkling of shredded cheese! Chicken and Pesto Sanwich ($11.75): served on a toasty french baguette. My friend ordered this and loved it! He asked me if I wanted a bite about 10 times before I screamed, "I'm vegetarian you nimwad!!"...which he of course knows but still insists on judging and taunting me. Coconut Cake ($4/slice): Eh, the cashier recommended this cake but it was a no go for me. Not too moist and it had that thick grocery store icing that I hate. Mini Chocolate Cupcakes filled w/ Vanilla Cream: wasn't a fan of these either...the filling was good but the cake was pretty dry. Chocolate Chip Cookie: Just okay for me. The cashiers were super nice and all in all, the food was pretty good. There were a ton of veggie options which is always nice to see...everything from soups and salads to pizza and pasta. They also have beer & wine, an assortment of hot drinks and sodas, smoothies and fresh juice!

I ate there last night and had the chicken pesto sandwhich. It was okay. The Griddle down the Block was busy so i thought I would try Fresh Bites for Breakfast. Got the Chicken and Broccolli omlete and pancakes to go for the girlfriend and i. Omlette was dry and ust okay. The " Side of Fruit" was orange slices, not what I expected. The Pancakes my girl could not eat but one. Had a burnt taste on them even though did not look burnt. I dont get the Hype with this place. I am bummed because I live a block away and wanted this to be another option besides the Griddle ( fabulous) and The Counter..

Luca Giorgetti has finally opened his stylish new Italian concept called Fresh Bites. Fresh Bites is just as the name suggests Fresh! Here you can get an amazing range of fresh soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, pizzas and grilled items. I have already fallen in love with the pizzas from this place and it's only their first day! I had a pizza with tomato, basil, and gorgonzola. So simple, yet so yummy. And for those of you who prefer your pizza on wheat or gluten free bases... well that is on offer too. I also have a bit of a sweet tooth and am very excited to say they have a range of yummy breakfast muffins, scones, croissants, macaroons and cakes. I've been told that their pastry chef Rebecca will be running the show when it come to weekend brunch and if her yummy pastries are anything to go by you can be guaranteed I'll be there this weekend!

Awesome little Italian spot across the street from the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. The owner is from Italy and the pesto sauce recipe is his Grandmother's. The pesto is the best I have had to date. If you ask to speak with him and ask about the sauce, he will point out the subtle differences about his versus most other recipes. The restaurant has patio seating and an area that is set up like a bar, but facing the street (no bartender, you are just looking at the street). The service was prompt, courteous and attentive. I am interested in checking out the other restaurants in this area, so it may be a while before I come back... but I definitely will be coming back.

I really can't figure out what all the hype is about this place. We went here after hearing rave reviews from a friend. Honestly, we stood there for almost 10 minutes trying to pick something because nothing sounded good on the menu. NOTHING jumped out or sounded delicious. I went with the salmon and veggies and my bestie went with the tuna melt. The food was good. Tasted fresh and healthy. But, there was no WOW. We also ordered house made kombucha which tasted flat. By far, the best best best part was the free cookies they brought out to us and the few other diners. The gingerbread cookie was AMAZING. If you are looking for something simple and plain that's pretty healthy, then check this out. If you are looking for something TO DIE FOR, look elsewhere.

I developed a fondness for this place. Salads all super fresh and tasty. They seemed to go a little light on the protein when you add it to a salad, but other than that, no complaints. A little pricy, but what on Sunset isn't? Had like 4 of the salads, all tasty, but can't weigh in on anything else. Until they open one in San Diego, I probably won't be able to.

I loved this place before we even walked in...the manager(?) greeted my friend and I (and her dog) outside and invited us to come inside to the enclosed patio, where a busboy promptly got a water bowl for the dog. It was really welcoming, and we appreciated it because it was cold outside. Onto the food: We both had the soup and salad combo...my friend with the beet salad, me with an apple/currant one, and both of us with the lentil soup. Really good on all levels! Good price point and flavored ice teas...done. They validate parking inside the building for an hour and 15 minutes. Yay!

Was starving and desperately wracking my brain for what i wanted to eat when we drove by this place. 1hr free parking inside the building lot with validation. Was immediately impressed with the decor. A touch retro, with clean lines. There's a designated outside patio area, then an another patio area that's enclosed by a glass wall that separates it from the main inside dining area. The owner, Luca, greeted my wife and I and guided us through the menu. Very helpful, very friendly and most importantly, he just had such a pleasant demeanor. Kind of like everyone who worked there. What a treat! Had the mushroom puree soup combo'd with a tuna melt. FYI, it's not an entirely organic menu, but Luca informed us that everything is hormone-free and pesticide-free. Price point was actually surprisingly good for the decor, service (Luca and the busboy stopped by our table no fewer than five times to make sure everything was satisfactory), and food. Highly recommend!

Came here twice. I liked it a lot the first time but okay for the second time. I will continue to come but I think with a tiny bit of improvement this place will be amazing. The Good: The service is great, interior is nice, and there is always free extra little treats (carrot cake...etc). Room for improvement: Food is a hit or miss. My fiance and I had excellent sandwiches and omelet, amazing coffee and smoothie the first time. The second time we got granola with rice milk. The granola with strawberry slices was amazing but the proportion of tons of granola and a little bit of soy milk is a little off. I think adding yogurt as an option will be great. My tomato/basil soup unfortunately was way too salty and acidic, literally a huge bow for heart burn (and I have a strong stomach). They have 4 daily soup special, 2 diff meats/vegetarian/vegan. I think pricing all of them the same is a bit unfair because my tomato soup now costs the same as chicken tortanini & artichoke soup, which is nearly 8 bucks. I also ordered extra croissant which turned out to be quite nice, but wish they would have told me that some awesome bread is already included when I ordered.

This place is AMAZING!! I think the most amazing part of Luca's is BRAD....Brad is such a rockstar. I couldn't decide what to get so Brad gave me a few suggestions and I finally decided on one of his favs. 4 cheese pasta w/brocoili(not spinach) and he added shrimp!! It was DELISH.....Not only is the food super yummy, they also have a juice bar and they make their own shakes. The juice just like the food was fresh and good!! If you are looking for healthy, fresh food you'll for sure want to go here. ** Remember Brad is an Angel!!**

This establishment is made up of delicious food and the nicest people! I came in here to get some work done and the entire staff was so gracious and welcoming. The best part, of course, is that the food is amazing. I had a gorgeous, fresh, huge salad that made my tummy smile. I peaked at the food everyone else was ordering, and it all looked fresh, nutritious and delicious. I will be back.

On an early Sunday walk, we happened past and realized the much anticipated opening of this had finally happened....and they were open at 7:30a...score! The staff member that took our order was friendly and helpful, even surprised us with a few fresh, hot pastries at our table as we enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was great, fresh and plentiful...looking forward to trying dinner soon. UPDATE...they changed the name of this place. Its still decent and we would go back.

Luca, the owner, helped to make a friends birthday celebration extra special. The food for all 8 of us was delicious. The staff was so attentive and nice. Finally, the custom made chocolate mouse cake was probably the best we've ever had (was the unanimous vote). Price is so fantastic for such wonderful food. A must visit for all. I'll be back again.

I enjoyed the margherita pizza (I chose multi-grain crust), a fresh fruit smoothie with cilantro, a wheatgrass shot, & a free chocolate cookie. Because they just opened, my pizza was 20% off. I also tried a free mini chocolate cupcake and it was awesome! The staff was still learning, but all my questions were answered quickly by other helpful staff. We ordered at the counter & waited about 5 minutes for our food to be delivered to our table. There is not a list of their side items on the menu, but worth asking about because there were several. There was also no list of soups, but there were a ton and many vegetarian! Tons of vegetarian items overall. Not much vegan though, but that is a quick fix without cheese. Mainly a soup, salad, sandwich type joint with lots of pastas & pizzas. Brunch is only served until 11AM on the weekdays, so I'd like to come back and try that. Lots of inventive juices and smoothies!

I bookmarked this place cuz my friend catered a party with sandwiches and salads from here and they were SO good I *had* to remember where he got it from! And i aint even a big sandwich and salad person. Fast forward years later and finally ate here and I'm like WHY HAVENT WE EATEN HERE??? Everything comes with a whole wheat option or grilled veggies. So healthy and delicious!...altho I do wonder why they don't post nutritional info on their menu?...

Delicious American food created with healthy ingredients and an italian soul. Luca, the owner, is a gifted chef! Try the turkey meatloaf and turkey burger. You will think they were re-invented.

I love Luca...it's reasonably priced, the food is tasty, everyone who works there is warm and welcoming, the decor is simple and lovely, and there is free parking! who could ask for anything more? and gotta mention the complimentary home-made cookies for desert-- delicious. and the other day when i had a problem with my parking ticket for the lot, the owner came and helped me out. this is courtesy you are not typically going to find in this town. try Luca, i guarantee you'll be putting it on your go-to restaurant list.

Wonderfully friendly and helpful service. Delicious and healthy food. They even had great ice-blended lattes. (I have to say, way better than the coffee bean across the street.) They didn't blast their music, so you could actually have a conversation. The food was a tad bland, but it's not going to lose a star, because I think they just didn't drown it in salt or oils, which makes it even healthier. I love this place!

Great salads and soups here. I had a cranberry and avocado salad where I added a chicken breast. Huge bowl with lots of flavor and tons of juicy chicken slices. The service was excellent. Lots of healthy choices on the menu. I like the atmosphere. There is a patio and fireplace. Very fresh ingredients. I haven't tried the smoothies but I've heard they are very good.

Came here for brunch a few months ago and decided to check out their lunch menu too ... and was SO HAPPY we decided to come back! AMAZING food! Super fresh, super healthy, and at a great price! Seriously, I can't wait for the weekend to come so that we can go back and see what else they have to eat! A true hidden gem in LA!!

I tried this place when it was still brand new and I was very impressed. Not only is the food pretty good, but there was also a LOT of it. I got a "half" sandwich and a "cup" of soup and definitely ended up with what I would define as a full sandwich and a bowl of soup. Also, I thought the staff was really warm and welcoming and that the atmosphere was relaxed but chic. Big thumbs up! I wrote about it on my blog, if you want to see pictures, etc. - Check my profile page for the general link and just search for the restaurant name in my search box.

Nice menu, good food but a little pricey. I eat lunch at Luca a couple of times a month. I always like my food, but I find the staff to be aloof, and the assistant manager usually found at the register is just rude. I have met Luca and he couldn't be nicer!!

I came here for the first time due to my cleaner coming so I needed an escape with access to wifi! I came into the restaurant and was greeted by the nicest waitress. The others seemed to be happy working there too which makes such a difference. The waitress was really accommodating and the food is pretty reasonable for its price. Huge meals. They even packed up the rest in a take home bag for me. The manager came out and gave me a free ginger bread man as well as others sitting in the restaurant. Others were attentive by asking if everything was ok. I have sat in here doing my work and do not feel pressured to leave! Definitely coming back on my cleaners next visit!

I have not tried anything here I did not like. Whenever I am going into Hollywood, I think "ooo, I can go eat at Fresh Bites!" They have a huge selection of food and it all lives up to the "Fresh" in their name! The best part? They are open late! This place has saved me a few times from having potentially bad late night food!

i can't say enough great things about this restaurant. even though i only have my experience with their americanos & juices to substantiate my claims, luca is divine. it's perfect for me because i prefer organic coffee, and there are a handful of places in west hollywood that make drinkable, organic coffee. also, i'm a fan of their organic vegetables and the fact that their entire menu is health conscientious. their pricing is reasonable as well. aside from the food, the environment is laid back and welcoming. the staff is very friendly and willing to explain anything on the menu. no doubt, this is my new place. i can't believe i've lived down the street for almost two years and am just enjoying this gem.

Came here because for the last few months I have been gluten free and I wanted to try their gluten free options. The decor and ambiance are great. I love the separation with the glass... Our waiter was really friendly and attentive. The wine was appropriately priced at $6.50 or so per glass which I thought was fair. Very generous pouring :) We ordered a gluten free pizza and a salad. The salad was delicious. The gluten free pizza I must say tasted a bit "too healthy" which for pizza might not be a good thing. The crust is OK at best. I thought the toppings tasted fresh and delicious, but was disappointed with the crust. Will I come here again? For sure. Will I order the pizza again? Probably not. Still a nice experience! Thank you!

I live and work in the area so I come to Luca pretty frequently, and occasionally order take out. The food is fresh. The restaurant is clean. My only complaint is that I was overcharged for one of my orders-- I wrote it off as a simple human error and I will continue to come back.

Uggh. I really wanted to like this place. Tried going there 4 times. Something new each time. It was disappointing each time. It's over-priced. It's bland. The only good thing I had was a tortilla soup... and even that wasn't great, just decent. The service was fine. Friendly. But, I doubt I will ever go there again.

In a town where you can eat anything you want at any time of the day, Fresh Bites offers exactly what we should ALL be eating. The food is great (most important). It is clean and fresh (I know because the kitchen is wide open for you to see). The service was excellent. The owner (Luca) made a point to come to my table to say "Hi" and brought me a fresh slice of homemade banana bread (delicious). The menu really does have something for everyone (even kids) and they don't balk at you changing it up. (I asked for an egg white omelet with feta and turkey bacon - and that's exactly what i got). One thing I noticed and really appreciated was the portion size, it was perfect. Just the right amount of food to fill me up but not make me feel full. The coffee is also excellent. I was told it is roasted specifically for Fresh Bites. The decor is modern and casual, There are some TV's if that's your bag, and few seats in front of a fireplace. Bathrooms were very clean. They also validate for the parking lot (1 hour). I went for breakfast but looking forward to going back for dinner. Maybe one night before going out to hang on Sunset. I would be surprised if Fresh Bites ever got a bad review because i got the impression that Luca would not let you leave until you were completely satisfied and that might be the freshest thing about the place.

We have always LOVED Fresh Bites!!! but last night when five of us went there after the film (as we have done since this restaurant opened) we were greeted by a snippy young man who claimed to be the manager!!!! When we wanted add a chair to one of the tables, he snapped that they don't ever do that there (totally untrue) - he never offered anything else - Unfortunately Luca, the owner, was not there last night - He would have been appalled at the bad behavior of his employee. There was only one other small group in the restaurant - and this was at 8:00 PM - and this unpleasant and arrogant worker lost his boss the income from five diners. All the people we have ever encountered there in the past have been friendly, helpful and inviting. So sad.

After my initial visit, I was so impressed with the service, quality of food and atmosphere that I have returned quite often. My favorite things are the pasta primavera substituting the marinara sauce in and the tomato and mozzarella salad. I sub out the cheese and get extra hearts of palm and it is wonderful! One of the best aspects of this restaurant is that while it has plenty of meat and fish dishes for my friends and husband, it also has plenty of vegetarian options! They eve have a cheese less vegetarian pizza, although I have to say, I didn't love it. Oh well, the rest of their items are great. Their soups are also always fantastic. Another thing I love about Luca's Fresh bites it that it is a great spot for a meeting. Free 2 hour parking and allows people to choose from a coffee meeting, lunch meeting, dinner, wine, croissant, whatever. No pressure!

  • DontAsk Y.

Good parking. Friendly people. (One star for each.) The menus are tattered and used -- not appetizing, people. The whole experience, including the food, was total bush league. Luca's the kinda guy you want to succeed but this place needs some help.

OK the fresh juices I really enjoy here! But the omelet's aren't good at all... actually they are pretty soggy and not really worth paying 15bucks for! I do like the sandwiches and like I said before the fresh squeezed juices are pretty tasty!

This is one of my new favorite quick lunch spots. While you order at the table and take a number, there is a lot more table service than other places that have this same system. In fact, for a place that doesn't have waiters, per say, I've gotten quite personal service every time I've come. Someone always comes by to check on how your meal is going and even bring you free cookies! The soups are really great and there are great healthy fresh options. I've been for both dinner and lunch and taken dessert (yummy, yummy cookies) to go. Has the feel of a nice neighborhood gem.

My friend took me here for lunch and I was so pleasantly surprised. First and foremost I have to commend the staff -- such a great group of very friendly and helpful people. It was a very inviting environment. I had the grilled chicken with grilled vegetables and black bean and corn salad. The food can out hot and fresh and tasted delicious. To top it off they give you cookies for dessert! I'd give this place a try!

I love Luca's Basic Bites in Beverly Hills so when I heard he was opening just blocks away from my work on Sunset, I was beyond excited! Fresh Bites decor is very clean and modern and also very open and inviting. The food is FRESH and absolutely DELISH! He has some items from Basic Bites but has also added pastas and pizzas along with tons of other great options, all at reasonable prices. They also have yummy pastries! I know I will frequent this place a couple times a week if not more! :)

I LOVED LOVED this place when it first opened up. Courteous, great health-conscious menu, delicious, clean and inviting. It helped to be only two blocks away from where I lived as well! Plus it was always a bonus to get bread and a cookie! However, recently they've tried converting to table-service dining....which has caused a few more headaches than I would have anticipated. First, the staff do not seem to be trained servers, and I've been forgotten about on numerous occasions. Second, since there's no host stand, if they don't see you sit down you don't get service unless you walk up to the counter where I could (and would prefer) to just give my order anyway. Also, I've had to ask for the check every time, whereas before I paid ahead of time and could leave at my leisure. I enjoyed the convenience of the previous set-up - it was a casual fit which matched the atmosphere. Now, I'm usually just held up or disappointed with the service. I'm a frequent customer who wishes they would go back to the original style. All that being said, I LOVE the food! Huge portions, healthy, diverse and delicious!

  • T H.

Awesome sandwiches, unique menu, healthy-ish food that doesn't taste like it is (that's good!), great ambiance, good service, really friendly and hands-on management. My only complaint is I think I come here too often and might wear it out. Favorite is Turkey and Brie sandwich. Oatmeal in the morning is also great, but you have to tell them to give you milk and brown sugar. The Tuna sandwich is great, but not the Tuna Melt - for that, go across the street to Greenblatt's who make the best I've ever had (and I consider myself an aficionado on Tuna Melts).

Whether you are visiting the Laugh Factory, or the DGA, Luca on Sunset is the place to be for good eats and wonderful service. The decor is post-modern chic with an ambiance suitable for casual dating to a family outing. Luca unveils the curtain on the fresh veggies and pastas they serve by having an open kitchen. We were greeted at the door by Brad. A congenial, friendly general manager who not only made sure we were comfortable but was humorous and attentive to our needs. Our waitress, Jessica, was informative and knowledgeable. She gave a multitude of suggestions based on our pallets and did it all with a charm not found in most wait staff. But, the food is really why you're here, right? The food is fantastic! They even have glutten-free and vegetarian options. First, we started with their fluffy, warm homemade focaccia bread. I ordered a combo pasta/entree combo. The turkey burger was juicy with a savory chipotle sauce. The chicken bolognese was some of the best pasta I've had in awhile. The sauce was creamy with hints of garlic that simply melts in your mouth. And, the portion sizes are amazing! Finally, dessert. On this night, I had their Chocolate Mousse Cake that can only be described as orgasmic. It could have served two, but this cake made me selfish. It is not to rich, nor light. It's just right. A thin coated layer of chocolate on top of silky smooth cake layered to perfection. Overall, whether you are in West Hollywood, Hollywood, even San Diego, you should stop by Luca and enjoy a great meal, at a great price, in a great location.

I am an avid customer at Luca's. I've seen this place grow vigorously for the past few years, not that the restaurant was sloppy or anything, and I'm genuinely happy for Luca. I've never experienced any problems while dining in or taking out. The wait staff is always friendly and on point every time. The food comes out SO fresh and SO delicious all the time! I'm a sucker for their kale salad!

So below average. I had a pizza and a salad. It was so ordinary. With a 4+ star review I was expecting more. I was with three people and all are meals were soso. Nothing special. Kombucha was awful. Steer clear. Actually just walk on by the entire restaurant. Nothing to see here.

Had Luca's salad again tonight. Besides the amazing food...I love the manager and the servers. They deliver excellent conversation, attentive, and always say have a good night. Also try some of their gluten free deserts. . Best on sunset hands down. Choose any of them.

Love this place. I've been two days in a row. Day 1 beet salad and black bean yam soup combo. Both terrific. Day 2. Chicken pesto sandwich and black bean yam soup combo. Terrific as well. Both for great price.

So I live right around the block from Luca and it has always been one of those places I have been meaning to try. I got a menu and 20% off at my door and on the spot called in an order. Then again the next night. And again tonight. It is delicious! I love the beer and goat cheese salad. Pizzas are delicious and I actually loved the gluten free one. I have heard Luca is a very nice guy from other neighbors so next time (after tonight) I'm heading for drinks and an eat in experience.

What a disappointment! With a convenient location, cute decor and an interesting concept I was ready to like this place. But the service was frantic, borderline chaotic and the food was straight up terrible. Our appetizer French toast came out after our meal was served. It was stale, room temp and bland. I had the oatmeal, it tasted like sand and gravel. My cousin had a beet salad. He paid extra for grilled chicken and it was served cold and didn't seem fresh. Also the beets were from a can. But mostly when we were clearly unhappy and not eating the food we were presented, no one tried to make it right.

Just had a very light, filling and satisfying dinner here. The ambience is very nice and the food is yummy, good quality and reasonably priced. I got the faro salad with lemon vinegarette and my husband got the beet salad and chicken bollenaise. Everything was excellent!

A celiac's delight!!! Being a celiac sucks. Everywhere I go I look for an edible pizza! Gluten free versions of things are as a general rule grim and grey!!! Luca's homemade gluten free pizza crust is awesome!!! The rest of the menu is varied and delicious! If you're screwed like me by gluten this is the place for you!

Not Happy!! I've been to Luca on Sunset countless times in the past. The food isn't anything amazing, but it's decent with a wide selection and cute ambiance. It's also within walking distance to my apartment and had become one of my go to locations for casual dining. Not after today. I was at a friend's house when we decide to order lunch. She lives towards the base of the Hollywood Hills, but at some restaurants on Sunset or south of Sunset, Hollywood is the cut off for delivery. So we call to make sure we are within delivery radius. After the restaurant looks up our address, they confirm that yes indeed they can deliver to us. Perfect. We call back a few minutes later after deciding what we want and are now told that the owner stepped in and said if our order wasn't large enough, they don't want to send their driver into traffic. Well there is only two of us...we want drinks, sandwiches and a salad. The guy answering the phone puts us on hold so he can check with the owner. He returns, offers us an apology and essentially tells us we don't make the cut - that our order is not large enough. Um, seriously? I'm sorry, but to me this is incredibly bad business. It would be one thing if we were not within driving range, or another if they hadn't already told us yes on our inquiry call. But this is like telling a customer that because they're not spending enough money, they're not worth their time. Clearly customer service isn't on the top of their list. No more food debates for me - I'll be consistently going to Evo Kitchen next door (a delicious, family owned restaurant that CARES about customers).

Luca is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. They have delicious combos and food is a lot lighter and healthier than your usual brunch spot but still tasty and filling. Get the challah french toast if you're wanting something sweet. The environment has a very chill, homey feel. A lot of light comes through the windows. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is always very welcoming and accommodating. Very nice!

This place was fine, certainly nothing to write home about. I thought the food was decent, but nothing too special. There is a lot of variety on the menu, the restaurant is spacious and comfortable, and the service was good. I'd say, don't go out of your way to come here as there are more notable similar restaurants all over LA, but it would be fine for just a casual dinner if you're in the neighborhood.

Came last night with a group for Valentine's Day. We came here for the fresh food and because we had a big party AND because they had their regular menu which is nice. Not everyone wanted a pre fixe menu to deal with. The food was wonderful. The server Inga was lovely. The ambience wonderful. Luca came by to say hello with his beautiful daughter. Get the chocolate coconut cake. Parking in lot at restaurant. Nice bathrooms. Luca, call me if you want to franchise in NYC:)

Amazing spot. Lucca the owner is very friendly and the food is always perfect. There are not enough healthy, fresh places in West LA that don't charge an arm and a leg for a simple lunch. Everything I have ever ordered from here has been excellent. I work close by and eat her 2-3 times a week. You can't go wrong.

  • Brian S.

How does this place have 4 stars? It feels like a glorified panera bread crossed with tender greens, but with less exciting food and table service. My party had a pasta dish and the meatloaf, both of which underwhelmed. Next time you're looking for good healthy fare in west hollywood, try fresh corn grill. It's counter service AND less expensive.

Stopped in this spot for breakfast. I was by myself and waited around to be noticed & seated; it happened to be right next to a guy who was eating alone - also there was another guy facing me eating by himself. So 2 people were staring at me when I was seated. It was so uncomfortable that I got up and asked the manager who sat in me in such an awkward seat if I could eat outside. He looked at me perplexed and said "Oh you want to sit outside?" I actually laughed at him because it came off so inappropriate rather than offensive (which it kinda was also.) So now I'm dealing with 3 uncomfortable moments in less than 5 minutes. I ordered steak and eggs. My server was terrible, he was nervous and saying all the wrong things; again it kept getting weirder! I can tell you with all my heart and soul in my body that this was the worst steak and eggs I have ever been served in years. The steak (which I ordered medium rare) was cooked poorly and was purple in the center and chewy. The eggs which I ordered medium - were burnt. The waiter asked me how everything was and I showed him my raw steak and burnt eggs and he looked at them shook his head and walked away. All this for around $20. This will be my first and last experience at Luca on Sunset. I'm guessing that I may have been served on a bad day but it was not crowded so the delay when I walked in PLUS the befuddled manager with no people skills PLUS the destruction of Highly priced $teak and egg$ which I know for a fact I could have prepared better at home keeps me far from this place AND it's walking distance. Sorry Luca... Thumb down!

I had the beet and goat salad, which was really good. I also had half of the chicken pesto sandwich, which was not that impressive. However, this place seems dedicated to transforming popular dishes into healthier alternatives.

Was here last week around 10pm. Advertisement on the door and online said they were open till midnight. Closer to 11 the server tried rushing me out saying they were closing early. It was nice until the end. After being rushed out their system wouldn't take my chase visa. The server started giving me attitude saying he didn't know what to tell me. I opened my account on my phone and showed him it was his system not my bank. They took my info and said they would process the transaction in the morning. I ended up coming back 15 minutes later with cash I pulled out from the ATM using the same card. When I paid they didn't offer any kind of apology for the lack of customer service.

I've given Luca three tries. ( in need of a quality italian restaurant in the neighborhood)...the last lunch was the final straw. I happen to sit down at a four top (the patio was Empty) when the first thing out of the waiter's mouth was " you can't sit here next time if it's busy". Major strike...should have left then and there. Ordered tomato basil soup/pesto pasta. They served them both at the same time...let's see, should I eat the scalding hot soup with way too much cream (nothing like REAL Italian tomato basil) and have the pasta cold or the other way round? Pesto pasta was dry as cardboard...this is only lunch mind you. Could not eat either! Left to have lunch elsewhere. Luca struck out on dinner twice. I lived in Rome for four years ...so, am very familiar with Italian cooking. Never again.

It s a Charming place. Its one of the few neighborhood restaurants that has sophistication and great food. My wife and I have breakfast at Luca's very often. We walk in and they have our order ready for us. Thats incredible service. I love the salmon Omelette, their smoothies and their coffee is kick-ass. Pizza is thin and crispy with great flavor. love this place.

Amazing gluten-free options- pretty much everything on the menu has a gluten-free alternative. The avocado cranberry salad is so unbelievably tasty. I like that you can mix and match most menu items- I got a sandwich and salad. Definitely try their smoothies, too- they aren't too sweet. You leave feeling not completely heavy (except they deliver delicious cookies with the check). Yum!

The food here is good. I ordered the ham and croissant for brunch. However I paid way too much for it.$11.45. It was nothing special for the price I paid. The cappuccino was ok too. The service was slow and they weren't really warm and friendly. It seems like there is more servers than patrons. I would've liked to be greeted in a more friendly manner. The only guy that was friendly was the bus boy. Other than that, I would only come here if I'm desperate. This restaurant has potential just needs more.

I will give this place another try. However, based upon my only experience I found this place to be mediocre. I had the four cheese penne. It was not very cheesy and reminded me of cafeteria food. My friend's turkey burger looked much better. The service was good.

I'll never go back again there just because of someone who declared to be "the general manager", this afro american guy has been extremely rude to me with no reason since I stepped in! Food was ok for me, bad for my friend who had stomach ache later. Definitely thumb down

5 stars this time around- I've been coming here regularly now and it's super consistent, staff is always amazing and the food is always good. Not to mention we finally tried one of their chocolate chip cookies, which is awesome to say the least.

It was okay. Their grilled steak melted in my mouth and the chinese and avocado salad was okay. Nothing impressed me but it wasn't too bad either.

Excellent thin crust gluten free pizzas. The menu has a host of unique healthy options. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating with window front to make it open and vibrant yet trendy.

The fact that Luca has four stars tells me two things: 1) this part of town desperately needs better casual dining options, and 2) the "healthy eating" obsession has warped the taste buds of many who now believe flavorlessness equals good nutrition. I live around the corner from Luca so I have eaten here multiple times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's close to me and it's open late, so I was willing to give it several tries before writing this review. Each time I hoped to find even one menu item that I could work with, and each time I left wondering why this place isn't...better. It has a lot going for it, namely a great location, friendly staff, pleasantly modern decor...did I mention they're open late? Even on weeknights. The problem is that the food ranges from average at best to downright terrible. Whether the chef has no cooking ability or the owner is simply overzealous about eliminating anything that might add fat, carbs, or you know, taste, I can't say. Probably a bit of both. The menu proudly advertises "no butter used in cooking!" - well Luca, perhaps if you used a touch of butter once in a while, your omelettes wouldn't be dry, rubbery, unappetizing egg pockets with flavorless vegetables inside. Perhaps if you added some flour and cream your mushroom sauce wouldn't be a watery, oversalted debacle to disguise the sad pressed chicken swimming in it. Perhaps a light oil and some garlic would do wonders for the tasteless "sauteed spinach" which is clearly just boiled in water and plopped in a dish. And the "roasted potatoes" which taste of nothing so much as the mineral deposits in the water used to boil them. The menu is a bit all over the place; Italian dishes (such as the chicken bolognese) seem to be their stronger suit, but not by much. Their tomato sauce is watery and does little to help the rotini underneath from sticking together. But at least there's no oil added right? Last night I had my final meal at Luca and won't be returning. The dish I ordered was the aforementioned chicken with mushroom sauce. When the waitress asked why most of it was left on my plate, I didn't even see the point in complaining. If you like bland, mediocre food masquerading as health conscious fare, this is the place for you. I, myself, will stick to a more well balanced diet - one that includes flavor.

This is one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. I've been going at least once a week since Luca opened and I've never been disappointed. Menu offers many selections and the staff is always easygoing and attentive to any changes you may want to make. Service is fast and friendly and the restaurant is spotless with an open theatrical kitchen and great juice/coffee bar. The food is outstanding... always fresh, always consistent, and there are many gluten-free and vegetarian options along with a wide variety of meats, pastas, salads, pizza, and homemade baked goods. The soups are also fantastic. And they serve breakfast well into the afternoon. The owner/chef Luca is usually there and is truly involved in the operation as well as interacting with diners. A great neighborhood restaurant.

We are always looking for authentic Italian spots... Found one!!! Incredable pizza and one of the best Prosecco's I have had since visiting our family in Veneto. We met several people at the bar who come many times a week. We can see why!

Edit, now 2 times going. To the client that got me food here I just want to get this out: please do not take this review the wrong way but I have to be honest as now that its happened twice I can't think it's just coincidence--- The first visit: After meeting with a client, I ended up here per suggestion. I had the pleasure of a tasty fontina cheese and prochuttio sandwich paired with a special apricot pastry. The sandwich was adequate. It was a bit on the heavy side but I'm not one who is afraid of the calories (after all, it came with a salad as well). The sandwich and salad would generally merit the 3 star but the extra star comes from the delightful and courteous staff and the absolutely delectable pastry. I swear the apricot gnosh was like eating a fluffy piece of flavored cloud (with chocolate on top). It was... most tasty. Later the night after the first visit- I started feeling ill in the tummy and it was not pretty. I thought that maybe it was something to do with the oils and what not from just having that heavy of a cheese sandwich and just put it off as that. The second visit: We ordered delivery. This time I tried the Four Cheese pasta and got an Arnold Palmer to match. It sounded good on paper and it tasted good at first. But then the tummy ache returned. That said, I could not keep the rating I originally had despite the courtesy of the staff. The shiny background of this restaurant is beautiful in its own right and what not and the salad was ok but for the actual meal portion this was just terrible. A former "something" told me that it had changed hands and hadn't been good before it turned Luca and... well I'm not sure how it was then but now, it was less to be desired. Pass on it or risk bathroom time and tummy aches.

I love, love, LOVE Luca! I usually get the grilled chicken with red potatoes. So much food, and more importantly, so much flavor! The vibe is awesome and they have a patio. Service is A+ too!

This place gets it right every single time. Best iced latte according to my taste and so far all the 2 omelettes I have tried were the best I've had and are filled to the brim. I also like how you can sub a side instead of the potatoes so I get quinoa and it also comes with some fruit and toast. Need to try other meals besides brunch here. They also throw in a free cookie! :D

Wonderful baked goods. They always reminded me of bakeries in Germany, Italy and France. Everything was wonderful! I am looking forward to going to your new place and have always appreciated the great food and service. A friend of mine still raves about your soup!

The food was absolutely horrifying. My friend sent back a pizza- the sauce tasted like it was canned, and incredibly cheap. Not one of us could eat it. My other companion ordered pasta primavera. It had canned peas and a couple of peppers with a sauce that tasted like campbells soup. Thin, chicken soup. Nothing primavera about it. I read the other reviews and am completely confused. I would not recommend this place unless you have no taste buds. The only plus- was our waitress was very nice. And not at all surprised when we sent the pizza back, she said that was not the first returned that day.

Mehhh.. I get the whole gluten-free, no butter, no salt angle, but it doesn't mean your food should be tasteless. I ordered the "Eggs, Bacon & Sausage" which is exactly what it sounds like.. Eggs (I ordered egg whites), turkey bacon, chicken sausage, potatoes, and whole-grain toast. The sausage was the only thing I could see myself ordering again, and even that wasn't anything to write home about. The potatoes tasted exactly like you'd think unseasoned/ butterless potatoes would taste like, and likewise with the lack of anything on the toast. I felt like I was sacrificing a lot to eat healthy. However, my girlfriend order a breakfast calzone (veggie I think?) and that was damn good (hence the three stars). I assume it's because the sauce is where the flavor comes in to play when the gluten-free, no salt/ butter leaves something to be desired. Other then that, the place has a pretty good vibe and the decor is very modern. We sat outside, looking up into the hills, but there isn't much of a view. I had a hard time getting passed the old gas station and bright-colored graffiti across the street. I'm sure i'll be back at some point, and I will definitely order something different, but with all the great breakfast choices in LA, it might be a while.

Hands down the most consistently great restaurant in Los Angeles. BREAKFAST - I love the "pancakes and eggs." The dish comes with pancakes, eggs (obviously), toast, roasted potatoes, and turkey bacon. Their coffee is fantastic, too! LUNCH - I like to get one of their smoothies. They're all solid. DINNER - the "grilled chicken breast" is great. The brussel sprouts are an awesome addition too. If you so happen to run into Luca, definitely say hi! He's the BEST!!! I'm here every weekend. So good.

It was super sweet of our waitress to mention a Yelp check-in offer since I'm not big on checking in. But I do love me a 10% discount :) Atmosphere and decor is earthy-chic. Casual place. There's outdoor seating, indoor seating, and a sort of in-between seating which is technically indoor but feels outdoorsy. We sat in the in-between and chose a table next to a beautiful water-feature wall. Lots of veggie-friendly items on the menu. I was able to veganize a Hearts & Cucumber Sandwich by simply nixing the cheese. I've never thought of putting hearts of palm in a sandwich before and it tasted really good with the alfalfa sprouts, tomato cucumber, avocado, and arugula. It also came with a tasty quinoa side dish. bit.ly/1efzu9U The meateater BF had a beefy sandwich of some sort with a yummy Israeli couscous for his side dish. Any restaurant that can accommodate both the meateater BF's needs and my vegan needs is awesome in by book :)

Nooooo!!!!! Sadly, when I went to eat at Luca today, the restaurant was closed. Permanently. The sign on the wall says the closure is due to irreconcilable differences with the landlord. I hope this means that Luca and his wife will be opening another version of Luca somewhere else soon. This restaurant was always consistently healthy, fresh, and delicious. The staff was always warm and welcoming. And the pastries were excellent. The gluten free lemon cheesecake is the best Italian cheesecake in town. Hands down. I can even begin to count the number of times I've eaten at this restaurant. It will be sadly missed and I will be waiting patiently for Luca's next restaurant endeavor.

I had their margherita pizza with prosciutto, the prosciutto didn't add much for five bucks more so I would not recommend it. The pizza itself was pretty darn good, massive size but not filling enough to make you feel too full. Try this place out for lunch!

I've been coming here for lunch very frequently since it opened. Food is very fresh with great options. Friendly and helpful staff. Luca (the owner) seems to live here. He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met! Fun and relaxed atmosphere for anyone! Prices and portions are hard to beat here on the strip! I highly recommend the salads and the roasted half chicken. Also the turkey burger is delicious! The bun is made with fresh pizza dough. There are also sandwiches and pizza, breakfast is served all day and everything is healthy! If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions they are very accommodating. Look to the specials for some great twists to some traditional dishes. Very family friendly. Outdoor seating and bar has sporting events of you don't feel like the bar scene. Bon Appetite!

I rarely complain and send back food, but I was utterly disgusted by the food and the manager/owner. Ordered pasta primavera which was described as pasta with 8 veggies. My pasta comes and it's a bowl of noodles stuck together like they are overcooked straight from a box with 2 frozen peas, 3 slivers of yellow pepper and a few small pieces of pre-packaged chicken. When the waitress checked in on me I asked if there was sauce or anything to make the pasta better as it was inedible. She agreed that it did not look appetizing. She offered to bring me another pasta, but I was skeptical. I originally wanted the roasted chicken so I opted for that. Then another person comes back and says we can only give you the chicken but have to charge for the sides since you already had a side salad. What?!? I was like you want me to sit here and eat a piece of plain chicken??? This guy goes and gets the owner... Luca.... Who is so rude and doesn't understand why I didn't like the pasta as it's a popular item. Maybe when it's made as advertised, it's good. He was such a douche and condescending. I said I don't want any more of your disgusting food. The other waiter "comped" my side salad and water. This is a disgrace to have this kind of food and service on sunset blvd in LA. GROSS!!!!!!!!

PEOPLE BEWARE...THE OWNER IS RUDE TO HIS OWN CUSTOMERS. Originally a couple years back I went to visit this place because The Griddle was too crowded to get in. I actually liked the food but the place was dead. Since then I've gone to Luca on Sunset a few more times to meet friends' and have seen the owner, I think his name is Luca, treat his employees with no respect, as if they're beneath him. Then, the other day I went there and could not believe how rude the owner was treating two customers because they were having coffee and working on their laptop. He told them they had to leave because his café is not an office. I could not believe my ears! He told them they had to leave even though they had been going there for a couple of years now. He, the owner, gave me the impression that he was discriminating against the customers because of their race.

Came here for a bite to eat after watching a film at the DGA. Cute place w/ a nice outdoor patio area. We ordered: -Tuna & Artichoke Sandwich ($12.75) - This was too salty. Maybe it was the pickled artichokes but the sandwich was definitely too salty. The bread was good as was the Orzo Pasta side (looks like rice), so it was too bad the sandwich wasn't very good. The sandwich was pretty large, as it should be for $13, so we took half of it to go. -Mocha Coffee ($4.25) - This was not too sweet and you could definitely taste the coffee - very good. The waitress even gave us a little metal container with extra coffee. -Chinese & Avocado Salad ($9.15) - While the ingredients were super fresh, I have to say I did not like the dressing. It definitely wasn't like other Chinese Chicken Salad dressings, which are sweeter. This was a bit bland w/ a slight ginger taste. Service was good considering the waitress had to come outside to take our order, etc. Bathroom was very clean as well. Too bad the food wasn't as good as we thought it would be based on reviews.

Went there for the first time last week to do homework, I had a pizza, tea, and tiramisu. It was all really good! Amazing service, Charles and Christian really took care of my table. Great place if you want a healthier meal. I definitely need to try one of their juices next time I am there.

Two-hour free parking in West Hollywood should earn Luca a whole star by itself, entrance off of Hayworth Ave. This restaurant is all organic with an open kitchen where you can see your food being prepared. It's clean and has plenty of open space giving you a relax atmosphere. I really love their limbo outdoor seating; a long table with huge glass walls giving you plenty of sunshine! I've never heard any of my fellow diners complain about the dishes served at Luca's. All the soups and sandwiches I have ordered were fresh and delicious. Plus, there's a cookie at the end to finish your meal with sweet note. The bathroom is set in the back with two stalls, one for male and the other for female (clean). Plus, the sinks is available on the outside, no wait. There's also TV available here if you want to catch a game, so no loss in the know among your sport's buddies. PS Free Wifi and 10% when you check in!

I had lunch here and I must say that for me this place ranks among the best casual lunch establishments in terms of the quality of the food. The prices are slightly higher than other casual lunch places, but it is well worth it. I'm a big proponent of healthy eating and try to avoid unhealthy choices like French fries. Luca served me one of the best tasting sandwiches and sides I've ever had that also attempted to be a healthy offering as well. I ordered the roast beef and Parmesan, which had a pesto spread in it with also a touch of horseradish and a collection of some greens. Everything about the sandwich was fresh and tasty, and one also did not feel like one was getting stuffed. The have a number of both hot and cold sides, all healthy oriented such as broccoli and spinach, and I chose a cold black bean and corn salad. For me it had just the right amount of seasoning and was a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. I don't understand the reviews that state the food was bland. I didn't experience that at all. The pesto, Parmesan, and horseradish in the roast beef sandwich gave it a unique taste, and for once I had a sandwich that didn't taste like it was overloaded with sodium. Another big plus was the coffee. The coffee was just exquisite, especially with a little bit of cream added. It was strong and earthy, just as I like it. Service was friendly and efficient, and I had no problem using the 10% discount for checking in on Yelp. The one thing I might ask is that if they really want to cater to those interested in healthy eating, they might want to add calorie counts and some other nutritional information on their menus. While the sandwich I had tasted healthy, I wouldn't be as happy if it were a 2000 calorie bomb. I might have ordered the half sandwich if that were the case.

Decent, healthy restaurant. They push the gluten free, organic, no-butter thing pretty hard. My sandwich was decent, and the free cookies are a nice tough. But even though they're pretty good, you can tell they don't have butter in them. A good spot to drop in for dinner pre-Sundance 5 movie screening.

We went here for dinner on a Friday night and it was not too busy and noisy like a lot of places in LA. We love the fresh made juices. It's not often a menu item option. Ash is a huge fan of the Chinese Avocado salad because it's healthy, fresh and light. Sally loves the soups there. They are hearty and full of flavor. There is free validated parking in the structure behind. With a yelp review you get 10% off your bill. :) thanks!!! Our server Rafael was outstanding. I was unsure of a soup flavor before purchasing it and he went and brought out a sample of the two soups they had so I could decide better and be happy with my meal. He was attentive, friendly and quick. We will be back!

Ok... So, I love the servers here. They are incredible. I'm convinced that the only bad part about Luca on Sunset is Luca, the owner. I've seen him publicly berate his employees in front of customers on most occasions. That's sad and leaves a sour taste in my mouth. On top of that, one of the reasons i come here (main reasons) is that they have juice and espresso. And yet, Luca seems to dislike us being here for juice or coffee. I'm assuming that is the reason I now see a "$12 dine in minimum" on the menu. All-in-all, 2 stars for Luca. 5 stars for the servers who seem to do everything except cook.

  • Aimee L.

I anticipated Luca to be more upscale and was disappointed. Although the furniture is nice, I truly felt as though we were in a cheap coffee house, specifically because the menu's plastic is ripped, sticky and dirty. Also, neither of us could see the writing on the menu as the font is way too small. Our server was very nice, and receiving our food was quite immediate. But what was most pleasantly surprising was the taste of the food. The bread served to the table was absolutely delicious!! Fresh, soft, flavorful like nothing I've ever had. We ordered the Caprese Salad, although it looked blah and sad it was surprisingly refreshing to our palates. We also ordered the Kale Almond Salad and again the flavors were outstanding (and this is without the dressing). Lastly, it's nice knowing that it has Gluten free items.

Nom nom! My friend had suggested this place after we hiked Runyon Canyon and what a good idea it was! Super Californian--all organic! I seriously could notice a different in the taste of their food! They've got some great combos that are perfect for lunch as well. I suggest the pizza + salad combo. Also, great interior along with a nice view of the hills and Sunset Blvd.

The gluten-free flatbread sandwiches are inspired, as is the appropriately doughy, floury gluten-free pizza crust done in the authentic neapolitan style. I thoroughly enjoyed every meal I had here, complete with the fresh fruit italian soda. I'll be back! Loved the gluten-free pancakes for breakfast, but the eggs were a bit overdone (did I say over easy? I can't remember). The chicken sausage was on the dry side too, but hey. It's healthy! So eat up and enjoy.

So disappointed to see it is gone! A favorite for me and my family and friends. So great to eat such quality and healthy and delicious! Luka is the most welcoming warm restaurant -- I only hope he is setting up another location nearby! Please keep us in the loop! We'll follow you Luka!

We visited this establishment on a holiday and thank heavens it wasn't crowded. 1. A truly pleasant ambiance on the patio 2. Our healthy meals were deliciously guilt-free 3. Servers were charming and service was very quick 4. Several out-of-their-mind transients walked by over the hour and spiced things up a bit 5. The music was excellent (downtempo ambient electronic and instrumental rock) Will definitely return.

I moved just down the street and really like this restaurant for a relaxing, quiet dinner. I do think, however, that you have to be careful what you order. I didn't like the pastas my partner and I tried (just seemed blah and rich), or the potato pizza (good, but nothing crazy good). I do really love the soups, especially the black bean sweet potato one. Dishes I recommend: the calzone, mexican-style salad (can't remember the name right now) and caprese sandwich. If you get the soup and sandwich combo, it is a LOT of food. I love the fruit-infusion sodas. The service has always been excellent, although I'm wary of the owner because of other yelp reviews. The benches inside are pretty uncomfortable, but the waterfall in the semi-outdoor area are very nice. UPDATE 10/14/2014 I've downgraded my stars to three after the worst breakfast meal I've had in who-knows-how-long. I still give this place an A-OK rating because I like coming here - for dinner - and if you stick to a few good dishes, you'll be ok. Breakfast, however, was really terrible. I don't know how this happened. The "fruit" was a granny smith apple, the potatoes tasted as if they had been reheated and the scramble actually tasted bad. So sad

    (3)
  • Geoffrey C.

Meh - mixed bag here. Atmosphere was a little "odd" as the flooring and tables were completely made of metal/bamboo. My date almost fell out of his "booth" because the booth was a flimsy bamboo chair that resembled a diner booth. The service was spotty - tough to find the waitress once the place started filling up. My turkey meatloaf was "good" but was luke warm and could have been tastier. Honestly, the saving grace was the delicious jasmine tea. This place is almost like the owners took the heart/soul of an Italian grandma cook and carved out the "heart" and left everything else. It's a nice try, but nothing worth a special trip.
